Coaches nightmare if true. I would walk away. We need freedom to do what is right for our club not their player as the season unfolds. He could be the best thing since sliced bread, but as he has only played a handful of senior games he might not be as well.
Mood hover alert There star signings are Wyke who will not score as many goals as he did here and power who we released
I see your point but even if we do get off to a great start it only takes a couple injuries (which going off last season and the players we’ve signed, it won’t take long for that to happen) and we are back to square pegs in round holes. I know there’s time to go yet but it’s very worrying. Sheff wed are onto their 9th signing I think now and have an insanely strong team for this league and they’re in a right mess off the pitch. All of this along with the farce to get into the ground on Friday and season tickets just dumped in envelopes tells me things aren’t what it seems. They may only be little things but johnson insisted on standards last year. Them are signs of a club with very little.
Blackpool's record after 8 games last season was Won 1, Drawn 1, Lost 6. Peterborough after 3 were Won 1, Lost 2. So whilst its okay to be concerned if we lose on Saturday, lets not get carried away with it.
I'm more interested in how the team do on the pitch. I'm confident having watched the friendlies that our team now are better than our team last season. Squad - probably not. But that will be addressed with some additions clearly in the next few weeks. In the mean time I'm more confident about playing this Wigan side on Saturday than I would have been with our team last season.
Probably. I think that’s thanks to Elliot Embleton. Very excited to see him this season. The full back situation terrifies me however. We need 4 and we haven’t signed 1. If jones gets done in time I fear it’s going to be a very long afternoon.
Doubt Jones will start. And if he does he won't be fit. Even if he comes on he's more likely to be the Jones we saw 7 or 8 times than the one we saw 2 or 3. Everything you're saying is right by the way, so I doubt I'm going to convince you everything is rosey. It isn't. But its all about perspective. Right now things feel worse than they are because all we can really think about is transfers. Once the football starts we will be able to go off performance and form and tactics etc.
And FWIW Embleton helps, Evans helps, Doyle helps etc But what is different is the emphasis and progression in our play. The tactics and style is different. The players we had last season couldn't do it. Even if they're better players (I don't think they are), the performance now is greater than the sum of parts, whereas before it was lesser.
I hope they do. Whist they do that they'll be leaving gaps for our quick transition into counter that we have seen Evans and Embo initiate. The alternative is they sit back and stifle us. I'm well up for them thinking we have a weakness to exploit
Pants are being pissed because there was no 'letter' with new season cards it would appear. Some of our 'fans' are embarrassing. They have already said delays at the printers and they will get them out asap. Aw diddums, the poor little chap wanted a letter to say thank you...
