He had a purple patch where he was laying it on a plate for Jiminez and Jota week in, week out - if we got that player it would be worth it - setting Son and hopefully Kane. Then he reverted back to the headless chicken mode and if that player arrives then we have wasted our money. Hopefully Nuno knows why he regressed and that he has a way round it?

Also, wasn't Traore a wing back at one stage?

Would take that….end of the day we need players…money can’t play in positions

Both are quality…any Spurs fan who thinks we are getting better pedigree upfront than Jesus are absolutely deluded about the size and attraction of our club.

Personally, I'd take him into the squad all day long, with zero hesitation, obviously if the fee is reasonable. Especially when we don't yet know who else is coming in.

When we played Wolves it was him that was scaring our players. Some of them even commented on how good he was and made hints to Poch to sign him up in post match interviews.

Also, we need all the physical presence we can get. With Sissoko, Wanyama, Dembele we may be beginning to look like a soft touch again. This guy is strong and has guile. Hard to dispossess. Has a rocket shot and quick skilful feet too. What is not to like?

It's a squad game. He would definitely add an option to our squad that I would welcome.

Laporte all day long would be a good signing. Jesus isn’t all that. 50 league goals in 5 seasons for Man City when you’re a striker isn’t great. In fact I’d take Danny ‘always injured’ Ings over Jesus and I’m not really a fan of Ings either.

Nah mate I think you’re the deluded one here by thinking Jesus is of a high pedigree. He’s generally been third choice at City at a time where they’ve only had two strikers. Even when Aguero’s been out he hasn’t always played. We can definitely do better than him.

I guess the fact that City always preferred a half injured Aguero to Jesus won’t have helped his return. Personally I’ve always felt Jesus is a bit of a menace everytime he came off he bench. Had a goal in him if he could stay onside.

We already have a bunch of inconsistent players with little to no end product, we really can’t be adding another at a time where we’re trying to rid ourselves of that ineffectiveness.

He’s quick, that’s literally it. And he’d very much likely cost us north of £35m. We’d be mad to pursue that calibre of player for that price.

With Son, Bergwijn, Lucas and Gil, we’ve got enough players in wide areas at the moment and the money we do have needs to go to more pressing areas.

    Depends on the formation

If we're playing 4231 as we did against Colchester, Dele or Lo Celso would be the one coming through the middle
If we're playing 433 as we did against Milton Keynes, having three wingers up top is asking for trouble given none can hold up the ball

I feel as though there’s a handful of top strikers like Lewa, Kane, Salah, Lukaku who are the almost guaranteed 20+ a season strikers.

I think Jesus, like Ings and such like are all about systems and how well they are utilised. Jesus is like Defoe from what I get whenever I watch him play…that’s a tier down for me…hope we can get better but I dont think we can…better, for me, is out of our league. Plus I’ve got a big problem with Levy having too much cash to spend potentially as I expect him to get too smart and balls it up…like this we got someone in.

    ultimately, I haven’t got a jiffy bro

Skyte Sport claim that Harry Kane has not shown up for training today

What they conveniently forgot to mention, which Gary Jacob has published in The Times, is the following

The Spurs players will return to training today but Harry Kane is not due to start fitness work until tomorrow if he returns a negative test for Covid-19. He will restate his determination to leave when he speaks to the club this week.

Now why would Skyte Sports neglect to mention such an important detail like that? Would it have something to do with funnelling money into SkyteBET which, while they claim to have no affiliation to, doesn't seem to stop their pundits appearing in all their ads?

    Bergwijn out, Traore in?

from what I’ve seen of Bergwijn in pre season I’m expecting much of the same like last season…lots of hit n miss performances. Gets the ball in juicy positions then runs out of brain and confidence…missed a sitter against MK Dons aswell…I could see his brain thinking from the telly when that chance came to him. Not saying Traore is better but his menace is more menacing imo.

I like Bergwijn as a guy…decent kid, not cocky but for me, unfortunately that manifests in his game too and he’s failing to find that eye of the tiger that confidence can bring.

He’s supposed to be back today. The fact he hasn’t turned up isn’t good

Yeah we obviously won’t sign anyone as good as Kane but I think Jesus is a couple steps down. With de Bruyne, Bernardo, Mahrez, Sterling and David Silva (minus last season) all supplying him, I’d say he probably looks better than he is due to the chances he has created for him. Here Jesus wouldn’t get that level of supply and I don’t think he’d be good enough to make chances for himself like Kane or link the play to the wide forwards well enough either, he’s more of a poacher and I think we need a more complete striker to lead our line if Kane were to go.

I’d take CK’s favourite, Jimenez, providing we could be certain his old head injury won’t affect him mentally. I do also like Ings but he’s a risk due to his injuries. As most know I like Ollie Watkins as well, though he’d cost a bomb now, still say we should’ve went for him a couple years ago.

We’ve also been linked with that Vlahovic of Fiorentina. More of an unknown than the others but seems to be in a that complete striker mould.

Ultimately I just think that Jesus, outside of City, would struggle at a lot of Prem sides.

So looks like Kane has turned out exactly like the other players that wanted their big money moves and refusing to train or turn up. Half surprised but guess shouldn’t be really as he made noises about wanting a move before last season had finished (awful timing and selfish)
