as the worst thread has proved quite poplar , i thought we should one for best football match you ever seen , so what would you say it is my choice would be for personal Bolton 4-2 Tottenham , just a great attacking display from us that that , a little bit disappointed we didnt get more goals , and in general it would have to be Chelsea vs Liverpool in the Semi Final of champions league in 08/09 , the game kept going Chelsea way then Liverpool way , you never knew until the full time whistle who was going to win that day Positive Rating!
Ipswich 1 - 5 Norwich Norwich 4 - 1 Ipswich Manu 9 -0 Ipswich Norwich 3 - 1 Wolves (01/02) Bayern Munich 1 - 2 Norwich Manu 8 - 2 Arsenal (For the comedy value) FA CUP final - Manu 1 - 0 Liverpool (Cantona) Germany 1 - 5 England Any game Liverpool lose
United beating Arsenal was pretty sweet. There is an Arsenal fan at work and I will remind him of it every day I work here.
Newcastle United 5 vs 0 Manchester United (PL) Newcastle United 3 vs 2 Barcelona (CL)
Istanbul 2005. I was at the game with 8 friends. Best comeback in the history of the competition. A night I will remember for the rest of my life
United vs Munich was more dramatic and exciting. Plus AC Milan rolled over and still should have won (bit weird that it coincided with the Italian match fixing saga...). You won on penalties anyway no last gasp winner
I watched the Utd game on the tele so I can't draw a comparison with the night of my life in Istanbul. 3-0 down at half time to come back and win on penalties with some amazing goalkeeping right at the death to keep us alive and in the shootout to give us victory - top notch game and for me the best ever in that competition.
Didn't Liverpool equalise before the hour mark? So basically another hour was played with no further goals.
Fair enough. I suppose a scouser will always say Instanbul, a United fan will always say the Nou Camp.
Hull don't bring me much joy, but beating Brizzle City 1-0 at Wembley and the first 10 games of the Premier League season were amazing. Oh, and the two play-off semi-final games against Watford. 2-0 and 4-1. Also, the best footballing display I've seen from Hull was probably beating Southampton 5-0 in March '08. Quality.
True. However - most pundits seem to think Istanbul was the better of the 2. Let's just agree that both were incredible games of football and will be remembered for years and years to come
99 Munich were wayyyyy better than 04 Milan and Nou Camp is better venue. More Manu 99 players were likeable. i.e. becks, giggs, sheringham, soljaer, schmiechel etc Manu 99 were a way better team as well - liver couldnt even get top 4 lol
