In legal terms it is not as simple as that. Economic loss in law is part of the tort of negligence. You have to establish duty of care, breach of that duty and that damage was foreseeable due to negligence. In other words - duty of care owed to NUFC by the PL, that the PL breached their duty and that by breaching their duty they had foresight of the economic loss to the club (not Mike Ashley.)

The loss in value must be due to the PL's negligence alone. Impossible to prove. The duty is owed to NUFC not Mike Ashley.

Your over complicating it. His loss is what it is. The loss is easy to establish. It’s 150m plus.

What’s difficult is proving whether it’s the PL fault!

Proving negligence in this case is next to impossible. That is required for a compensation claim.

Under CAT - Proof that PL actions cost St James Holdings to suffer loss. The holding company, rather than the club must have suffered loss of value.

No duty owed to Mike Ashley or St James Holdings. The duty is to NUFC only.

The loan that he may have paid off - is this the personal loan he made IE the £120m?

Value of club is around £200m, just under. Saudi offer was £305m, which was value plus loan. Now the loans down to him and what a ****ing cheapskate clown he is, the repayment of that won’t be factored under any loss. He then needs somehow the PL to be liable for future losses, ie if he sells the club for £150m and retains the loan owed, the difference is £50m and he is presumably trying to argue the PL need to pay the diff. But then I imagine he’s got to actually sell the club to prove the difference, it’s got **** all to do with what he or PIF think it’s worth and I imagine the PL argument is pretty straightforward.

Just another pathetic, stupid Ashley mess.

The clubs financially fine, we spend less than every other club almost and make more.

Im gonna say its just some bullshit no one should care about

That or the Fraser Group is buying the club.

Or there is a dispute with the auditors, which in my experience is the most common.

Or we are under investigation for claiming furlough for Shelvey for last season. Our argument that while he was present in midfield he was clearly not working has not washed with the Inland Revenue.

He'll be waiting for the window to close before saying how much profit we are in!

It would be interesting if we were in profit as it would show that a Premier League club can survive without fans.

I suspect that the only people who will be in profit after a season with no crowds will be those supporters who normally have to buy @Albert's Chip Shop's beers during the pre-game Saturday drinks sessions.
