No they’re not. The PL has a set of rules that all stakeholders must agree to abide by in order to join and participate in, the league. The owners and directors rules form part of that and NUFC agreed to those rules when it became a PL club.

    Yeah.
Also, it strikes me that they’re not telling NUFC it can’t be bought by PIF, they’re saying that a PIF owned club just won’t be allowed to join their competition - it’s free to be a club, free to be owned by PIF; but the Premier League is a private club and we wouldn’t be in it. That’s essentially a private company deciding who to do business with, it’s not a government department, it’s a capitalist decision and presumably no state or court can make it do business with a PIF-owned NUFC…. I can’t sort that one out in my head

The argument before CAT is that application of the ODT is anti competitive as the PL does not objectively apply the rules.

CAT jurisdiction hearing delayed by 2 days. Moved from 27th September to 29th September.

Hardly a massive delay, but yet another delay to add to the long list of this never ending saga…

I’d have a sizeable wager that if that case ever gets heard it’ll die on its arse.

I don’t think there can be a bigger nail in this threads coffin than a 3 year deal for Bruce. As I said earlier, guys in Saudi were mystified I even mentioned it, they *knew* it was dead and gone.

It’ll be sold the day Ashley curbs his greed, which could be a long wait, and it’ll go to a smaller investment type where the budget will be not a lot different to the one we have now. That depends on how things pan out financially for the league and I suspect this gov regulator will actually have a detrimental impact on us trying to get a buyer. Not forgetting what a useless **** Ashley and his mates are in being inexplicably unable to sell a football club, when Burnley, Southampton changed hands and West Ham have attracted a bid £100m higher than our asking price.
