The club have already said he isn't for sale, what a moronic club Villa are.

We’re looking for a left-winger, and they’ve got a decent one in Grealish. Could be a swap deal to be had in there

    Ha ha ha ha ha

There is no benefit to selling Prowse, if you want him you’ll be forwarding the lions share of the Grealish transfer fee directly to our bank account thx.

Seems I was bang on with my guess of “far less than we value him at”

Their problem is everyone knows they are, to quote Jean-Ralphio “Flush with Caaaash”.

They have got an over the top bid for Grealish due to his importance and long contract. Who does that sound like?

It becomes like the Torres and Carroll situation. Where Carroll’s fee was “Torres - 15m”. Our valuation of JWP has likely gone up in line with the uplift they have got for Grealish. Maybe not pound for pound. But they have got 20-25m more than he is worth. So they should start by sticking all of that onto that opening bid to even prove they are serious

If Ben White is worth 50m, then JWP is 75m or they can bugger off.

Probably not without outright ignoring FFP. They at least try to pretend to meet it most of the time and then come up with other corrupt workarounds

I mean his and Grealish’s transfer set the benchmark don’t they? Hard to argue that he is not worth more than White and less than Grealish really . It is just common sense

It’s a funny one. They desperately need a striker. One thing they don’t need is (another) ten type player. But hey ho.

Weren’t there rumours of them wanting rid of Sterling and mahrez? One of them might go? Not sure who could afford Sterling after the Euros though.

    Or Mahrez for that matter

Villa offered 30m for Smith-Rowe and 25m for JWP?

    Odd to think like that.

He's our captain, he's on a long term contract, we don't want to sell him, we don't need to sell him, he doesn't want to leave and even if he did...with all due respect it wouldn't be to Villa. A historically big team sure, currently flush with cash sure (even before a Grealish sale). But they've been back in the PL just two seasons and they should have been relegated the first. They've had one good season and a big reason for their good season was Grealish who they might be about to sell. JWP is smart. Villa wouldn't interest him and an offer of anything south of £50m is highly unlikely to even pique our interest enough for a second glance.

JWPs value must be 40m+ in basic terms, but then you wack on the significant domestic premium.

On top of that his value to us is much higher given the detrimental effect it would have on Saints if he left.

Personally I wouldn’t sell Prowse for any amount, but if the club were to sell for any lower than £60m it would be a huge act of self sabotage.

Why don't we offer Villa Tommy Forecast plus £5m, for Grealish? Just to wind them up, really.

Yeah call me crazy, but I would rather have JWP, over Grealish.
JWP is the heart of our team, our captain who demands the maximum out of the other players. Has bite and drive.
Yeah Grealish has high skill, but in my opinion, JWP is the better all around package.

Two different types of player really, although he is Villa’s equivalent of Prowse in the sense that he is also their captain who demands the maximum out of the other players and has the bite and drive.

In which case how do they feel they would respond to a £25m bid for Grealish? Bit of a brainless effort tbh, he is unlikely to be unsettled by Villa either so I don’t see the point.
