I like Anita Rani but I have never considered her to have a “brown face”. As I do not watch Strictly, I cannot comment on whether she did not win it because the judges thought that somebody else was a better dancer.

She does appear to have got this one a little bit wrong. It does not seem that failing to win Strictly has had a debilitating effect on her career, as she is working on Countryfile on TV and presenting Woman’s Hour on the radio.

 

The various bodies such as the OECD and the IMF predicting stellar UK economic growth are living in a fantasy that will prove their estimates worthless (as usual).

After eighteen months of ‘working (shirking) from home’, employees no longer want to work their five day week in an office but want the same pay for more flexible (i.e. less) hours. Productivity should decline accordingly. The slackers also want to do away with crowded workplaces or the stress of the commute. Employers are already finding shortages of workers in key sectors so this economic growth can only be illusory with the nation having binged on the debt by fraudulently claiming furlough or suddenly needing to self-isolate when the weather is good. It is difficult to see how some companies will operate going forward when recruitment will be done via a Zoom call and internal promotion will be almost impossible to evaluate having hardly met some of the staff.

They make parts that are used for building and maintaining Royal Navy ships, so letting it go bust and getting cheap parts from the Chinese was not an option.

Being a crazed leftie, of course he wants more money as they can always find ways to waste it. As part of London is built on River Thames flood plains they are reaping what they have sown. The Thames Barrier is useless against heavy rain.

 

There's plenty of research that shows that your claims are unfounded, and a better work life balance from such as working from home actually increases productivity.
