See Max is doubling down on the bullshit about him being in hospital while Merc celebrated.... Crikey...they are really pushing this one.
I love Hamilton’s take. In essence, I’ve been racing for 20 years and it was fine, and I could explain why but I can’t be bothered/you wouldn’t understand anyway. Anyway, FU. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/hamilton-id-repeat-verstappen-attack-in-exact-same-way/6638523/
After careful consideration the stewards have decided that being hospitalised after the crash is a major factor, and so Max will have to sit out this race to allow his body to recover.
So are we going to get something today, or are they going to wait until we're forming the grid and send him to the back like a naughty boy?
If what I have read us correct , this is just about asking for an appeal to be granted . So no final decisions ( ref penalties ) yet .
I'm sure in his original tweet he ended it with "but we move on." It's a shame for all our sakes they didn't!
Seen on Twitter that grounds for appeal were rejected - from Dutch journo. Not seen anything official though
PlanetF1 are reporting the rejection as well. Just read it and seems they are quoting same Dutch source!
Pleasing as I really can't make up my mind between racing incident and Ham fault (with large portion of blame still with Max). Whatever I think of the incident, the punishment was proportionate to other similar incidents so I'm firm that it shouldn't be going up.
I really don't understand what Red Bull were hoping for. The best-case scenario was always the stewards saying "yes we agree it was Lewis's fault, that's why we gave him a penalty". Which seems to be what has happened. Nobody gets drive-throughs anymore. 10 seconds is about the harshest anyone ever gets without a clear regulation breach.
Helmet was saying they wanted ' a penalty that would have prevented victory' specifically 'a drive through or a suspension for the next race'!!!!!
Assuming there was a rejection, and I don't think till an announcement we can assume that, it will be interesting to see how the two engage on the track going forward. Will Max be more circumspect or Lewis a tad more aggressive. When you look at the clashes that happen further down the field, RBRs persistence is very odd. Be good to focus on the season ahead, RBRs best response would have been to win the next race rather than create bad feeling. It was interesting to read that the Red Bull engine is effectively the 2022 engine.
Yeah it's been rejected. Perez and Albon had acted as independent judges in a test that proved it was Hamiltons fault. Unsurprisingly the FIA didn't accept this as new evidence.
All this has done has set one set one set of fans against another....And made some take a pretty dim view of RBR. Sheesh. They're going to look like absolute plums if they drop the ball on this season. Especially if it is at the expense of 2022.
