Branson and Bezos went 80 and 100km up.

    Satellites are far higher up.

Musk for example launched a Tesla car into actual space this was a pure stunt but shows his rocket has actual application.

Nipping the edge of space for a bunch of rich people to experience a few minutes of micro gravity is not actually learning anything new.

We have seen mass nation based programs for space do a lot of things but stall at the moon landings and retreat back to near earth and probing.

Bezos recoverable rocket is basically similar tech to musk but on a lesser scale. Branson is a complete side show.

For example neither are developing actual tech such as flying across the globe in less than 2 hours. They could but they are not.

Playing at 35-40,000 feet at 500mph to get to Australia is the end end evolutionary track imo.

If either man was focused on getting up to the height they are and actually travelling across the globe to land I might pay attention.

Satellite territory is not being threatened, scientific research is ot being threatened.

In fact the chinese are now putting these guys to sham despite their apparent not giving two ****s where their spend rocket stages fall.

They now have a rover on Mars and a space station module up there.

This is like saying there's no point in seeing how fast you can run because Usain Bolt is faster.

No, I'm saying their efforts are Mickey mouse. If they want to act the big cock then they have to do a lot more and that's why I think the us changing their terms to prevent these guys badging up 1000s of rich nobody's as astronauts is hilarious.

I've said musk is the one doing precisely what you are saying about developing stuff and as you may realise from my comments on his insider trading and bitcoin stuff I cant stand the guy.

Bezos and branson are like kids with toys compared to musk and musk is nowhere compared to the nation states.

    There's always room for amateurs.
Imo, in principle a world where billionaires chuck money after vanity projects and some people don't even have clean water to drink is morally indefensible.
However, this is the world we live in. I'd rather they spent their money on something more useful, but if they're going to waste money like water then it might as well be on something interesting.

    Things I've discovered this evening

Gymnastics is a truly amazing sport

    Skateboarding is less so

My toothbrush holder has a motion sensor which light up in the dark.

Joey Barton showing his usual antics.

Charged with assault by beating after a woman suffered a head injury.

The guy has an extremely long record of violence both on and off the football field.

He can be named as his victim is an adult and he is going to be in court tomorrow.

Currently he is manager of Bristol rovers. I can't see him.not being sacked very quickly.

    crazy stuff.

the list of his offences are extremely long and would suggest a personality that will eventually kill someone or get killed on the street

2004 started a brawl at preseason at man city by hacking into a doncaster player. He then got his as those lower league lads hacked him to bits.

he then did his most savage attack by stubbing a cigar out in a youth players eye at a party. the got massive fines from city and later was sued by the player.

In 2005 he then started another brawl with a 15 year old on tour and apparently then turned on his own club captain when he was pulled off the child.

in preseason in 2007 he assaulted another team mate that included a detached retina and head injuries. This got him a 4 month suspended sentence.

in december 2007 punched a guy in a street fight over 20 times past the point of unconsciousness, Attacked a teenager and kicked him in the mouth breaking his teeth later than night. that was 6 months in jail. however with a 4 month suspended sentence already given i fail to see how the **** he got so little.

punched pederson in the ribs and got sent off in 2010

elbowed tevez in the throat in 2012, then drove a knee into aguero and then tried to have a fight with kompany and balotelli as he was sent off. got a 12 match ban for that.

then got into a twitter spat with shearer and lineker over it shouting the odds.

He apparently accused his team mate he beat up of lying and wanted a charity boxing match to settle it. This despite knowing he detached a retina. this was 2012.

in many ways he has actually not been in the news for a while but god knows whats gone on behind closed doors.

IMO bristol rovers not sacking him is astounding. hiring his sort is bad enough and putting that sort of stuff over young people etc.

Serious anger issues, which he obviously isn't dealing with.
I agree that he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near impressionable young men.

its bad living, he's swelling up and if he hadn't the pubes inserted on his bonce he's be fat bald and semi grey bearded.

Jimmy milner might be boring but the tiddlewinks and 4 hours a day excerising keeps him trim.
