Strictly speaking, the Multiverse theory of Quantum Mechanics does not allow for parallel universes as such; reality, according to QM, is merely mathematical probability. So all possible phenomena exist as a superposition within Hilbert space, a hypothetical abstraction of infinite dimensions.
At the macrostate in which humans exist as entities or systems, an illusory phenomenon known as Quantum Cohesion occurs, whereby the random behaviour observed at the level of sub atomic particles - ie. the grammar sustaining the language of reality - appears deterministic and predictable. This is a function of probability; it enables us to construct meaningful narratives about our lives and the world in which we live. But it in no way reflects the true nature of that world.
