Time for a shake up and a rethink WESTWOOD BARDO..OSHEA..BROWN..RICHARDSON LARSSON..CATTS..VAUGHAN..SESS BENDY..JI
I'd play Gardener rather than Catts as Vaughan does everything Catts does anyway, just better and with more quality and Gardener plays well alongside Vaughan and can score goals but apart from that, why not. Do you think the fat **** will though? Of course not. It will be 4-5-1 again with Bendtner up front on his own and us with no chance of scoring. He will go for a draw and end up losing.
As ever every week we get a team with 2 strikers in it, wake up people Bruce will not play 2 strikers as long as he has a hole in his arse. Would also give Westwood a try out syd Mignolet has lost a bit of confidence for me, I'd also try Laing instead of Richardson. Think Larsson is struggling with his dodgy toe so put Sess on the right and Ricco on the left keep Larsson for emergencies or should that be the inevitable emergency?
I'd stick with Richardson, he had a decent game on Sunday - especially defending. Mignolet also pulled off some decent saves too, I wouldn't say he is lacking confidence. O'Shea was disappointing though, so I wouldn't make him an automatic starter. Turner looked stale but not sure what other options we have there - we need experience at CB and people like Laing could crumble if things go wrong.
I have watched Sunderland since 1957 and held a season ticket every year at the SOL but if Bruce persists with this defensive crap for the Bolton game and we end up getting beat again I will definitely not be going back again until Short gets rid of the fat lad. I don't want to boo the players so this is the only other way I can think of protesting effectively, I know it will cost me money but this situation at present is affecting my health and my marriage
I would agree with that mate. I think he has improved a lot recently, he might make a decent LB yet. Brown seems to have been a good influence.
Unfortunately I think Larsson is suspended (5 yellow cards) for Bolton, so replace him with elmo (shudder) and that would be my team. I think we may actually get 2 up front purely because Larsson is injured so Sess will be forced out wide.. Either that or the new lad McClean might be given a shot? Either way, this could be a bit of a blessing in disguise (even though, imo, Larsson has been our best player so far this season, just edging Bendtner, and a million miles ahead of everyone else).
Agree with that but think the shape should be more. WESTWOOD BARDO..OSHEA..BROWN..RICHARDSON CATTS LARSSON...VAUGHAN...SESS BENDY..JI Really get CAtts to sit in and allow the other to get forward more. Swap catts for colback when he starts to walk the tightrope.
Looks about the strongest team we can put out with the squad Bruce has assembled. I wouldn't argue with that selection based on the players we can choose from. Tried to find info on whether Larsson is suspended but couldn't find anything concrete. I believe he has 4 premier league bookings and 1 cup booking. Lets take a quick look at Boltons form at home so far this season. Played 4, won 0, drawn 0, lost 4. Scored 4 and conceded 15. Not ever Bruce can fcuk this one up, surely?
have you seen who they have played at home though? Man City 2-3 Man United 0-5 Norwich 1-2 (Ok i will give you that one) Chelsea 1-5 So it hasnt exactly been easy for them.
I didn't see anything to fear from a very average Chelsea when they came to the SOL. If we had half a go we could have easily picked up a point but instead we played with fear, I wonder where it comes from? If Bolton got trounced 1-5 off Chelsea then they must be an opportunity to pick up a point, surely? Perhaps one of the few opportunities we will have this season... I would expect us to get beat by 3 or 4 off Man U at home so once again Bolton look like an opportunity to pick up a point or maybe a 2nd win of the season. If Bruce fcuks this up then there cannot possibly be any justification for him to continue as the manager.
Just because Chelsea were not very good against us, doesnt mean they are not very good, they were great against Bolton, as the scoreline shows. If it was as easy as looking at past results/performances, the bookies would be out of business. I have no idea whats going to happen against Bolton, my heart says 0-2 to us, my head says best is a draw.

The fact is it was 11 v 11. If Sunderland had played with 1 man Chelsea would have scored more goals.
I really cannot how see how Catts is in your team Syd, his best attribute is tackling and refs are slaughtering him when he does tackle. He is slow, cannot pass, cannot shoot and will probably never score for us.
