Well if that is the case and he is out injured for the foreseeable then more fool us for offering him a new contract.
He barely even contributed last season because of his constant injuries and this should be a warning sign that this season will be no different.
We need players in the squad that are actually going to play, not a squad full of crocks like last season like him, Wright and McLaughlan to name a few.

Yes i know, im just saying either way we should just be telling him to sling his hook by now. Actions speak louder than words and his actions have shown his lack of respect and desire for the club, and thats not the kind of player i want to see go to War for us next season in our battle for promotion

I hate that attitude. Almost blaming a player for being injured. Don’t offer a contract because he’s a crock. Sling his hook.

The second Willis did his knee, the club took a completely opposite approach to this, exactly what a club should and offered him a contract. He’s not exactly suffered loads of injuries. Just this one big one.

I hope he stays. Undoubtedly quality in my opinion

you mention “his actions“ which I’m guessing you mean his lack of signing. O’nien did exactly the same. Kept his options open until the right option was there. My guess is Hume is doing the same. I have no gripe with that at all. Young lad making his way in the football world. Could be a massive decision for him to make (relatively)

Im seeing it how i see it personally mate and clearly we have a difference in opinion when it comes to loyalty. Hume barely even played last season, he basically got paid for nowt, so he should be happy to sign and repay us in some way. He obviously thinks he's alot better in his own head if he thinks he can do better than us, because hes far from the finished article at the moment and thats all down to lack of development being laid on the physio table constantly.
Willis has a devastating and potentially career ending injury, of course we should stand by him. We also know he needs replacing now for next season.
Hume is keeping us in limbo and making us unaware in whether we need a new Leftback next season or not and fecking our rebuild for next season up.
Onien signed weeks ago so again you cant compare him to the situation either. The season kicks off in 10 days ffs, he should have had a deadline weeks ago.

Oh mate difference in opinions absolutely. But he didn’t “get paid for nowt” at all. That’s not opinion it’s fact. He got injured doing his job. He then went through months of what would, in no small part, have been painful rehab and physiotherapy.

It’s not too much different for me. It’s not as serious as Willis’s injury, but it’s still an injury he picked up at SAFC.

Yes i get that its not his fault getting injured so much and being paid for nowt. However i cant see how his behaviour these last few months can be defended. Hes sitting back waiting for a Championship club to come in for him obviously holding us in limbo wondering whether we need a replacement or not. Hes bang out of order and has zero loyalty and for that reason id show him the door if i had my way!

Clearly not but he's been linked to Boro and various other Championship clubs so would you not say its pretty obvious he's holding on for them actually coming in and making an offer to him. Id also say its obvious as soon as one does we wont see him for dust

09 keeps getting bought up. He signed his contract early July. What Hume is doing is completely different

As someone who has worked a lot of his “former” life as a contractor, I always kept my options open and looked fir the best offer I could get. I had 4 contract offers fir different work when I first took my job at the NHS contracting. That was 15 years ago and I now have a career with the NHS. I don’t see what Hume is doing as any different to what I did. All 4 of my suitors wanted my skills and expertise but I bided my time to make sure I did what was right fir me. Just think he’s doing the same. I hope he signs but understand if he doesn’t. He has to look after himself. SAFC are just a by-product of that

Ive just seen this comment about Hume written from somebody and i think he's hit the nail on the head about this ongoing contract dispute. I was angry about him a few weeks ago, but ive calmed down abit now, although still very frustrated.....

If new faces are brought in we should just let him leave if that's his choice. However, he was injured under contract, playing for us and we owe him a duty of care to ensure he is fit before we release any obligation, otherwise we will gain a reputation of abandoning injured players and that won't help us long term in recruitment.

Personally I'd like the lad to stay, as I think he's a decent player at this level but if his intentions are to move on, he should at least have the decency to say so publicly.

Hopefully that lad from Spurs signs so we can **** him off. Swear LJ said he gave him a deadline of the 7th August, so who knows why this is still ongoing.

I think he should count himself lucky to be offered a new contract to be honest when you look at his injury record
