He was on contract though. As long as he didn’t break his contract he’s entitled to be paid. Unfortunately he didn’t fit and successive managers couldn’t get him playing well
Is that how it works? As soon as you get a contract that’s it? It’s perfectly okay to put in next to no effort to actually do the job you were hired to do? Lemina was sh*t. Played a couple of good games but otherwise looked as though he couldn’t give a toss. Truly awful signing. As Aberdeen said, good riddance.
With this morning's news I can only conclude that Jordan Henderson was recruited into the England Euro squad to tap up Jack Grealish. Did anyone hear Murphy say that Grealish was just the sort of player Liverpool need?
No not at all. I agree it’s great we offloaded him. I feel the same way about Forster sitting on his contract for a million years. I don’t condone it, but the fact is contracts work both ways. We also need to be seen as a good employer as word gets around and players won’t sign for us.
Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano · 1h Tottenham still in negotiation for Cristian Romero but no agreement yet on €55m fee - he’s the priority. 100%. please log in to view this image #THFC Plan B: open talks to sign 3 different defenders with same amount. Tomiyasu [€18m], Milenkovic [€15m] and Zouma [€25m]. Caleta-Car, NOT even an option. Looks like Vesty is no longer on Spurs radar??
If Roma do come in they'll be offering peanuts. Mourinho is - bizarrely - going out of his was to publicly eulogise about Xhaha, yet Roma are refusing to meet Arsenals' valuation of £18m with 2 years remaining on the player's contract.
Well i hope Vestergaard sees some sense if Spurs are not interested and signs on to a new deal. We shall see, Plenty more still to do this summer with our squad i feel.
Aston Villa's bid to sign Bayer Leverkusen'sJamaican winger Leon Bailey has been complicated by Leicester, Everton, Wolves and Southampton showing an interest in the 23-year-old, who could be available for £30m. (90min)
Does the window shut the day before the first games again or have they scrapped that? Got a feeling a lot of business is going to be done very late in the window due to clubs being skint
Window closes on 11th August. I think things will start to move very late on in the window if/when some of the big moves happen. If Kane/Grealish/Haaland get big moves then there will be a few clubs reinvesting big money and it will filter down. You'd also expect Liverpool/Spurs/Chelsea to start spending soon enough so that could speed things up.
