When I go, I'd like it to be a celebration. Like second line.

But I'm not black and I'm not from New Orleans so it probs won't happen.

Would be remiss of me not to mark HIAG's passing and I'm sincerely grateful to the poster who took the time to text me the sad news of what has been posted here today.

Had our run-ins, which got quite heated at times, but for me there was always an underlying current of mischief and a sense of humour, however irreverent and, on several occasions admittedly (and perhaps refreshingly) rather juvenile in our exchanges. I also believe that was how he approached most of his wummery on here until he found himself in a rather dark place after losing his brother and mother, which I felt tipped him over the edge and undermined his judgement on things like the comments he made to Saff - which, despite his panoromaic scale of wummery, were out of character when viewed in retrospect.

Forums like this need characters, and whether you liked him, loathed or merely tolerated him he was a big character and hard to ignore - and, let's face it, rather adept at keeping his chosen targets spinning. He was a huge catalyst for debates, opinions, disagreements, 'banter' and perhaps, even, an unrequited love that looks likely to endure for a good few years <whistle>

Said on more than one occasion that I'd have happily met up with him for a few beers but looks like that will now have to wait to the next life ... shame because I know just how much he would have loved me congratulating him on how the latest chapter in his prediction of my team's inevitable downward spiral after being top of the league at the turn of the year in 2015/16 has added a first FA Cup to the Premier League title ... he loved a good joke and a 'wizard jape' ... <wizard>

On a more serious note, I find myself a little bit angry with the daft ****er for being so stubborn and also a bit selfish. Should have got himself jabbed for the sake of his family, whatever he thought about the whole debacle and handling by the authorities. He could still then have come back to tell us how we were all gullible suckers and how he was still ahead of the game.

RIP Big fella ... you will be missed and this place has lost a giant in poster terms ... my condolences to his family and friends <peacedove><rose>

Just logged on to see what nonsense was being posted on the forum

This was the first thread I read and a bit of a shock, life is so fragile and we all need to look after ourselves for our families

HIAG was always amusing and made a good tag team with Pinkie

    RIP HIAG

Tragic what happened to hiag, given that it was likely very preventable. Apparently his family have been left in the **** financially and they’ve set up a go fund me page. I’ll PM you the link if you want it ?

And yes a big character on here. His wums would inevitably backfire and explode in his face, but that was part of the appeal and it attracted a lot of traffic. There were times he played up to it, but a lot of the entertainment was hiag spinning himself into a stupor, threatening to get the law involved and then claiming it was all a wind up when he’d calmed down.

Bit of a tragic character, which has been reflected in the circumstances of his death, but he seemed like a decent family man and I really feel for his poor family.

Anyway, welcome back Fosse. And don’t forget you’ve got Munse’s Avi and username forfeit to do, so don’t go flouncing on us again ;)

Someone needs to update that on Hiag's behalf, every time Spurs top it.

So not next season then. @Spurlock?

Haig was a funny ****er, and you can't say fairer than that.

I still remember Hiag saying he was working on some new guitar stuff. Not sure if he was on a wind-up, but said he was going to make some tutorial videos on youtube, which I'd have taken an interest in. Now the poor guy has left his guitars behind in exchange for a harp, raw deal if I ever saw one <rose>

I didn't realise he was actually dead, I just thought this was some sad bring back HAIG thread.

I was glad that he had left the forum and was quite nasty to him towards the end because I felt that he should no longer be on here as you could see something wasn't right.

    Sad that he passed away.

He's got all eternity to learn the harp, but I bet he'll never be quite as good as he thinks he is <ok>

You and me are about the same age, we'll still be on here as a couple of old codgers hammering the keys into our 90's. If I go first, you get Thatcher as a years avi, if you go first I get that shhite Blair. @Spurlock write it up. <laugh>

    The death bet. :bandit:

If you kark it before me old man, I'll happily carry a Thatcher avatar in your honour, even if I have to log on from the nursing home. Which I won't, cos the ****ing Tories shut em all down, and I absolutely won't go private.

If I go first, you have to use Tony Benn <ok>

Just watched the video diary thing from the Corona thread, pretty ****ing tragic.

The virus doesn’t effect 99.9% of us, guess he was in the 0.1%.

Found him tedious most of the time but still a terrible way to go, RIP HIAG
