    The BBC have said they're interested in the story on a Man City forum. Hope they pick it up and whichever cowardly, lowlife ****s were involved are made jobless and eventually homeless.

    You get the standard Stewards who are there to make a presence and to guide the people visiting the stadium, but they have no authority to man handle a member of the public. Then you get the supervisors and the hands on security staff who often generate trouble rather than prevent it, like the ones in blue jackets at the Stadium of Light.

    Yeah he says halfway through he has to take 5 pills for his heart or something. Absolute joke tbh, about 8 stewards there and they couldn't handle one old man at all. Disgrace.

    This is a ****ing scandal and should be branded nationally as such. you've got you blatant power trip bouncer wannabee security guards getting stuck into an old fella who's basically ****ting himself at the entire ordeal you've got people screaming at them that he's an old man and hasn't done anything yet they take no notice. If that is actually a copper stood there then why the **** isn't he saying anything to the thugs trying to drag him out as that is not how things are done.

    I can't see the city lads taking any view other than the ones being aired on here and by the sound of the people shouting when they're trying to drag him out they seem as disgusted as anybody. i hope that any witnesses go out of their way to make a statement as that is ****ing criminal.

    Absolute disgrace.

    The rules are in place for two reasons;

    - To keep the fans safe
    - To ensure fans' enjoyment of the game

    If a fan is breaking a rule, use common sense befoe taking action. If taking action will cause more disruption than not, reconsider.

    Stewarding can be boring at times, it's easy to stir up trouble if you want. Most guys know not to, some turn into bullies as soon as they put on the jacket. These cowards are clearly the latter, along with the police who severly mishandled the situation.

    I hope these stewards are at very least punished and retrained if not sacked and the gentleman involved is rightly compensated for his ordeal.

    It's **** like this that give the thousands of good stewards out there a bad name.

    It was a mix and the police wouldn't have got involved in such a petty event without encouragement from stewards.

    Does the fact that police were present not make the outcome even worse to justify??? How they could justify manhandling an elderly person, who clearly stated that he had heart problems, is beyond me. In fact I would say the police action was probably worse than the stewards, just because they stood by and watched clear underhand bullying.

    Haven't watched the video but haven't been to Man City I'm not surprised when we won 1-0 in 2000 they kept us back while the City fans were allowed to crowd up and cause trouble whilst the police and stewards did nothing.

    an old fella is singled out and manhandled for standing in an area where everyone appeared to be. hes basically saying he done nothing wrong and then a load of ****er stewards pile into him and drag him out while everyone protests around him. hes saying he has a bad heart and the p[olice are just standing there letting it happen.

    I hope the FA, the Premier League, Man City, Showsec and Greater Manchester Police have all been informed about this.

    I thought that too, while we're all slagging Citys stewarding. I'm not jumping on any '****ing disgrace' bandwagons based on that video when we've no idea whats happened beforehand, how many warnings have happened previously before the police have gone up, or indeed how he's ended up on the floor given theres definitely some scuffling on both sides after he's refused to move. Taking pills for a heart condition is no excuse for being a twat, and if anything is more of a reason to stay seated, anyone with a heart condition at Newcastle would be rushed to hospital every 4 games if history is anything to go by...

    I'm not defending anything, but neither am I accusing anyone of wrongdoing that frankly isn't evident from that video. The 'us and them' attitude towards stewards is awful from many fans, I've mates who did it while at uni and the fella who sits next to me is mates with one of the head stewards at SJP. They're human, and they're doing a ****ing difficult job.
