And KLP putting in inch-perfect crosses onto the head of, err, Tom Eaves? No, it would be good to see Tom on the pitch again but I really think he's not for us, as a player.

A 1 Year deal would be perfect Doc & Honeyman will do all the running.
Never seen a City player so comfortable on the ball we should also get Curtis back is experience would be invaluable.

You were quick off the mark there - I nearly posted my Tom Huddlestone question on the Friday Night thread. It's been a hard day!

Just seen some jerks in Facebook slagging TH off. One even said he was “useless”before imagine him now. It is my fury that I have to share oxygen with these ****witz. One of the top 5 most talented players of the modern game to play for us. Sorry had to get it off my chest..

Agreed, it's one thing having an opinion, but quite another flying in the face of reality.

    Some moaned? Not all moaned?
I'm sure if I dug back I'd find everyone having a moan at some time, be it about a Diomande, Meyler, SPMcS, Elmo, Aluko, whoever., missing auto when we had the best squad in the division, etc etc. Don't pretend you didn't.
    Looking back, we were spoilt.

We weren't spoilt, we'd waiting 104 years for our 5 seasons up there, most clubs our size have had significantly longer in the top division and who knows it may never happen again, many of us cherished it and never slag our own players off.

    It will happen again.
Not one for slagging players off managers on the other hand.

Not as old as the Italian centre halves who gave our young forwards a footballing lesson not so long ago…

    Great player.
Be nice to see him back in a City shirt, although I’m not sure it will work

    Don't pretend youre that old.
Of course we were overdue it, especially those of us who had followed city through several decades.
But come on, practically everyone on here would moan from time to time about players we once could only ever have dreamed of having playing for us. Anyway, the main point was I'd love to see TH playing for us once again ....so long as the terms were sensible (which they of course would have to be anyway). One of, if not the best passer I have ever seen in a City shirt.

Quite so - and he's a very versatile player. I think he dropped back to central defence on a couple of occasions.

And was terrible there so Jake went to centre back
Glenn hoddle wanted Tom as a sweeper twenty years ago but it never worked out.
He’s played very little football in two years
He’ll shine in a friendly and be awful in proper game
Coaching is the deal for him now

Thinking about it a little more, I'd offer him a coaching role but register him as a player just incase, he would be a fantastic mentor and role Model for the youngsters

Plus a fabulous Ambassador and figure head for the club. Would also put some real football knowledge and experience on the payroll, not to mention the benefits to be gained from having a player of Toms status and reputation as a classy well known footballer onboard.
It's a no brainer for me if he could be persuaded to sign for us.

I'd love to see both him and Mayler involved in the club a lot more, would be great all round

Agree, he was too slow last time he played for us..... Appreciate that was with only Livermore alongside him....

He’s never been quick, I think it’s a bit harsh to say he was too slow. He certainly wasn’t the quickest in a race but how many players have you seen better than him that looked like they had all time in the world on the ball.
His first yard was definatley in his head, although I don’t think we got the best out of him at the time

The more I think about it, the more sense it makes. It's not like he'd be a high earner either.

The fact that he hasn't found a club & neither has Brady, Adelakun & Crowley shows just how brutal this market is. All good players at different levels.
