The fact that two of our young players are causing a debate as to which is the better highlights just how far we have developed in the last 18 months. No money grabbing journeymen, but two up and coming youngsters battling for a place in our team. The competition will make them better, both of them.
I did not, but I'm not one for changing an opinion on a player based on one or two performances, which explains why the tag line will stay the same for the time being.
Robert Koren has provided with creativity and goals since he's been at the club, which is why every time he has been available he has started. Dont think you can match that with many other players in the City camp. I also think Evans is quality, and would much prefer him of TC because he actually gets stuck in, and plays the ball very well, he makes intelligent runs into the box, and he comes up with a goal or two. That does not mean TC doesn't have quality, he does, I just think at this time, Evans is better suited to the team then what Cairney is. Simples
I have said it on other threads but it's all about competition for places and form! You cannot pick a team based on who has a better reputation, cost the most money etc! NP will pick his team based on who shows the most application in training and who carries that form in to the match on a saturday. Having a strong, balanced squad will hopefully get the best out of everyone because nobody wants to be sat on the bench or in the stands (well apart from Jimmy Bullard, damn it I vowed never to mention him ever again!) Couldn't make the Brighton game but providing Evans is fit, I'm looking forward to the Evans/Koren partnership I witnessed against Cardiff
