I I’m still not convinced CAT actually fixes this fast. This Tracey Crouch info really independent regulation is big news I admit. Wonder how long that will take to be implemented. I actually agree that ARB will not in fact happen (@Roy Munson ) that the PL may in fact try and negotiate prior to the independent regulation. Or they might just sit back and leave it to the government. The time of which is also unknown.
Can anyone explain to me why Newcastle or Ashley can’t say “we are trying to sell the club to Amanda Staveley and her consortium but are struggling to overcome certain obstacles. Both sides remain committed to the takeover.” It’s not a listed company, like other clubs, so stock price or confidentiality is irrelevant. By not specifically aiming a barb at the premier league the statement - or a similar one - is perfectly legitimate. Yet like everything else in this murky clusterfuck, it doesn’t happen. Can someone give me a solid gold reason why this doesn’t happen, why commitment and honesty is simply absent?
When has Ashley ever communicated consistently? The club statement from a few weeks ago is the best they can do.
The threat of independent regulation will be terrifying the PL. It takes away the influence of broadcasters and other teams.
Precisely. In spite of his billy bullshit “Newcastle fans have won the lottery”, he won’t be that tiny bit more specific or issue anything jointly? And you don’t think that’s odd? Well, not odd, but quite telling? There’s no reason no to do it.
Sorry I misread. The quote I saw stated "he WILL" and not that he already had. There is a still a chance he stays yet had Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea after him
