I know its no politics .... but listening to this briefing .... And I vote Tory ..... theyve now lost the plot in my opinion . So much contradiction between what they are saying is so important and what they are now doing / allowing. Frightening. And I have a relative who needs urgent cancer treatment but after already being put back for 4 months still can't get it. Crazy path he's now put us on. Tan, and even Boris himself, saying it has to be slowly, carefully yet the exact opposite is happening, and cases, admissions increasing at speed. Doesnt make sense.
They just showed the graphs. All going up. Admissions and deaths not at the same rate as last wave but now clearly increasing. And unfortunately I have family experience of the now growing again impact on certain icu's. And of companies now facing serious manning issues. Of course we need to chart a way out of this but what is happening now is mental. It looked like JVTwanted to say as much but politically held back.
There will be a U-turn soon (there always is) from the "pingdemic" if nothing else. If they don't want to consider the health impacts, maybe they'll listen to their mates who run businesses that can't operate because too many staff are at home isolating? It seems clear to me that the government has decided to rip off the plaster and accept a chaotic summer in the expectation of having full herd immunity by the autumn. Very dangerous game IMHO.
Agree with all of that. They should stop talking about 'caution' etc, They've now thrown pretty much all caution to the wind! Their contradictions don't makes sense; straight out of the Ehab play book (come on, bite).
Johnson deliberately would only talk about nightclubs, with most other age groups a new scarient does the trick when they want to push up vaccine uptake but the young aren't as scared of covid as the rest of the population so another tactic is needed ie the threat they can't go to nightclubs, it's still coercion and blackmail from our government though.
France had the same issue with the young not taking up the vaccine, so they announced that people wouldn’t be able to travel without a vaccine passport and the vaccine bookings among the young trebled overnight. I think it’s a perfectly sensible and reasonable tactic for the benefit of the country as a whole.
Just seen that from next week in France, you’ll need a vaccine passport or negative test, to enter any venue with over 50 people, including outdoor events like football matches.
You can get your Covid passport through the NHS app now (wasn’t on last time I checked) Particularly important for all you clubbers If you use through the app it automatically updates If you need to print it off it only lasts 30 days so you’d need to print another before then by just logging back in and it’ll generate you a new one
Correct, got mine yesterday, they will also give you an explanation of the certificate in a foreign language for if you go abroad. My phone doesn't do apps and the like.
I know it is from the rag that is the Daily Mail but ... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/s...tend-autumn-matches-infection-rates-high.html
only applies to crowds of 16,000 +, thanks to Ehabs excellent forward planning our crowds won’t get near that. Best run club in football !!!
It applies to capacities of 16,000+ not how many turn up. So both us and FC would be affected even if less than 10,000 were there. Bournemouth would be unaffected even with a sell out crowd.
The problem with the BJ government is mission creep and ambiguous rules, could be tricky times ahead for football, theatres, concerts and cinemas. I am looking forward to the friendly fixture against Mansfield, I am interested to see what rules around masks, entry procedures etc are announced by City in the run up.
