    <doh>

You said 'title winning form'. Title winning form is winning and destroying everything in front of you, which you have not done. You also included Newcastle in a list of teams that to me you think are difficult.

No, I was stating a fact too and you (deliberately?) misconstrued my point, in order to get a cheap laugh. But hey, guess what, the laugh was on you <ok>

You clearly don't grasp the significance of why the 5 game time frame is important, but that's your perogative.

Oh look, more silly emoticons form DB <doh>

You really aren't worth arguing with, because you can't grasp basic maths <doh>

I've nothing more to say to you on this, and I'd imagine in future on anything else, if you persist in your use of silly emoticons.

It'd be quite stupid to try and gain a laugh ON a Spurs board on my own wouldn't it? Muppet.

Have you or have you not gained 13 points from 7 games? Y or N???

I think you will make top four, but in no manner of the term are you in 'title winning form'. The geordies will tell you that.

Newcastle are a much improved side. Pardew has got something right, at last. TBH, we played poorly - Bale especially, was anonymous. Howver, St James' park is no easy place to go at the moment - as you could well find out in a few weeks time!

Ensil, who's that in your display picture? If you want to turn this into a petty argument (yet again) be my guest.

NSIS - i agree they are a vastly improved side, but surely a team in 'title winning form' should be thumping a team like Newcastle?

Fair enough, I don't think we'll win the title either. In fact I predicted us to finish 6th, but have been pleasantly surprised by how good we are since Parker and Ade joined.

You won't be surprised if I don't take the Geordie's views on our team as being the definitive statement. I saw the whole game, watched highlights twice, and have seen all of Spurs Prem games live this season, so I think I'll go for my judgement rather than theirs. As no team has thumped Toon up at SJP this season, Arsenal scored all of nul goals for example, I would say that not thumping Toon at their patch is not an indication that that we won't win the title. Far from it, indeed.

However, to reiterate, I do not think we will the title, my prediction was we'll finish 6th, hopefully that will prove to be on the pessimistic side.

I don't understand how Harry is so determined to keep such a bad apple, He is replaceable and for 40 million you could get 3 or 4 players that could take Spurs to the next level. Mehmut Ozil in my opinion is the best playmaker in the world (for those who doubt check his assist stats) and he cost 25m euros.

Alcantra Thiago who is valued at 15 million is 21 and already as good as Modric and will be better.

There is no proof that Modric is a 'bad apple', indeed our brilliant form since the window closed indicates we have a great team spirit and are getting terrific results.

I see DB has resorted to the time honoured insult of 'spuds'. We are Spurs not spuds.

Is any Chelski fan really deluded enough to think that, after their shoddy activities during the window, we would sell Modric to them? If he is as good as they have led him to believe, he can go to team that has a chance of winning the Champions League. To be fair, that is not them. Ok, you have to be in it to win it. But, as they have proved time and time again, you don't win it just by being in it.

Playmakers don't necessarily get assists, although Ozil is an excellent player(not sure you can argue him over Xavi)

Without wishing to be disrespectful I don't think you understand our situation. Modric is without doubt our best player and losing him would be a disaster, if we allow Luka to leave we will find Bale, VDV, Benny, etc getting itchy feet and either joining him out of the door or forcing huge payrises. Our best players are looking for us to show ambition and letting our best player leave to another PL team is not showing that we want to compete at the top. As all the Spurs players and staff will tell you, Modric is not causing problems, the media are simply looking to jump on the slightest hint of unrest at the moment and will take anything out of context for a better story.

Then there's replacing him, we've got one player on 45-65kpw and if we sell him and get 3 or 4 players like you say we couple of them we could end up paying an extra £100kpw for their wages. We already have a good, big squad and adding more strength in depth is not the answer we need those 2 or 3 top players that can make a difference, the trouble is we can't get them because we can't afford their wages. We have the money for transfers, as was shown by bidding £20+mill for Mata but we can't match the wages they're on let alone the kind of payrise Chelsea and co can give them and selling Modric won't change that.
