A slightly cooler head...And Max could be among the greats. He's got the speed, he's got the talent, just needs to be a little smarter in the heat of the moment. I think his and Red Bulls rage today has a lot to do with it being a wasted opportunity to maintain or extend the gap.
Only just found out Red Bull put Perez on a set of Softs to deprive Lewis of the fastest lap point! Can't blame them tactically. Championships have been lost by less.
Given they gave up constructor points as well to do this, I would laugh so hard if they lost the constructors championship by a point at the end of the year!
Marko also now claims Hamilton destroyed Albon’s career. It would be funny if it wasn’t so deeply unpleasant and lacking in basic self-awareness. https://apple.news/AY9_Ht5mZRiS7yPWKVYm6NQ
Cretin...between them, they have left so many drivers high and dry in their F1 careers. They're like it's a speed dating event trying to find the one.
I know I shouldn't be vent at social media here, and secondly, probably shouldn't look at it. But the Hamilton celebrating after "putting Max in the hospital" posts are an absolute joke. It was a massive shunt, he was quite rightly checked out, and thankfully he is okay... They know what they're doing with this rhetoric at Red Bull, and it stinks. The sport needs to get involved with this at the next race and let both know any stupidity will not be tolerated.
This is still Verstappens year in my mind, with Formula 1 actively pushing it to end Mercedes/Hamiltons dominance. Hamiltons punishment with no mention of Maxs driving today and yesterday only helps to further enable Verstappen. Today was always going to happen and will begin to happen more when drivers decide to stop conceding to Max. Any injuries are on Horner and the FIA, but of course they will escape any condemnation when the inevitable happens. I know its a political world and Mercedes want to hold their place, but they really need to go on the offensive here, otherwise they are equally liable to the enabling.
Mind games. It is hard for me to have any sympathy for Red Bull, or Max. Today was mostly hard racing, two cars going for it. Red Bull are mostly emotional because they realise Merc have caught up and that Lewis is good enough to out perform Max. They can see the opportunity is slipping away. They probably know that Max hasn't quite got the maturity yet to win a hard fight with a 7 times WDC. I want Honda to exit with the Contructors championship in hand, because I think F1 gave them a bad deal at the start. Unfortunately I hate Horner and Marko but am warming to Max. I think Max says what he is told to say on occassions, e.g. the disrespectful remark. However, F1 is a theatre, with goodies and baddies, all of whom entertain us, long may they live to continue to do so.
I hope Merc and Hamilton come out swinging in the bullshit battle that's being waged. Eff em.... This whole thing is utter crap. If you want to race this way, anticipate the consequences and stop playing the innocent victim... Honestly, we have reached some lows this weekend.
The fact that we've not only got the "Hamiltons is a **** for celebrating while Max is in the Hospital" and "Hamilton tried to kill Max" stupidity, we now have racist abuse to top it off. The inflammatory language that came out of Red Bull today is so angering... They knew perfectly well what they were doing. Horner almost refrained from saying what he did, but he did it anyway. So bloody annoyed at them. **** happens in racing, especially when the tone has been set the way it was all weekend... It's a bloody good job I don't run this sport, because if I did, I'd haul in everyone involved and read them the bloody riot act.
The other annoying thing is all the Max fans and Lewis haters are using the fact Lewis got a penalty as fact he was wrong. Like the stewards always get their decisions right. Lando last race ring a bell? Not a penalty in a million years and I still fully believe today they only gave Lewis a penalty and didn't declare it a racing incident due to RBR and more specifically Horner's outburst influencing the decision.
That and the awfully spectacular outcome... The crash was brutal, and I'm thankful Max walked away without any serious injury. This video shows just how sickening the impact was. There is so much going on in this incident, starting the day before, the bumping and squeezing leading up to it, and then the actual moment of the clip. There really are spots where you can lay blame on both sides, from Hamilton not backing out, Max squeezing and then the onboard of Max realizing Hamilton is there, to the then going in anyway. It's a messy one.
Sports fans are stupid and an embarrassment at times. For some reason it's been allowed to fester and mutate into something ugly in social media and in the grand stands
Man who destroyed Albons career blames another man for destroying Albons career If the difference between keeping or swapping Albon was based on ability to win a race, then Marko should have not penalised him for getting tangled with Lewis twice. The fact is, Albon was just too inconsistent and the chance came too early, as it did Gasly. They should both be driving the Alpha Tauri IMO. Tsunoda another one who isn’t mature enough for this level yet and needs time
Sad to see racism coming out on social media after the incident. The only way forward IMO is to verify accounts so that actions can be held accountable. At the moment it’s like these racists can wear an invisible cloak and just carp from the shadows whilst the rest of the world picks up the slack. What we end up with is good honest people having to go through diversity and inclusion training at work because of these handful of imbeciles online. The world is mad.
If people want to talk about dangerous and trying to ‘kill’ him moves maybe Horner should watch Schumacher squeezing Barricello at Hungary in 2010 and the difference between a racing incident and ****ing hell he’s trying to put him into the wall.
