I think DC is taking something . Yesterday he said it was the most exciting fight for pole position in the history of F1 . Even Mrs Jasper looked at me and asked if he was OK!
I think Lewis has made a statement, that he won't be bullied into submission on each occassion they are close. Max has had his elbows out a few times this year. He knew Lewis was there, watch out the rest of the season. Max will want to get his own back. I am imagining a Max vs Ocon out of the car tussle between Max and Lewis this year. The season is alight.
Not a fan of Horner, ever since he stated Ocon was lucky Max didn't punch him harder. Horner is himself aggressive.
Nice little montage of Verstappens aggressiveness, which when you listen to him is never his fault. He’s very fortunate nobody has chinned him yet
The number of times he has defended the indefensible because Max can do no wrong and then this performance today over a racing incident. It genuinely sickened me.
Some good video footage from Karun and Sky here: you can clearly see Max spotting Lewis on his right, he gives him a little space then turns in on Lewis!
I’ve never warmed to him. You can admire his ability as a driver, but as a person he has an unlikeable arrogance in which he can never be wrong. The same can be said about Lewis at times but I do remember him after hitting Albon, in Brazil I believe, admitting hitting Albon was his fault
I had started to warm to him a little . Not any more he’s reverted to hid dad and grandads mode . Thug . Completely and utterly out of order and disrespectful . I hope Lewis pisses all over him now . Not sure he will though . I mean pisses all over him in racing and literal terms .
I'm okay with a bit or arrogance and swagger... But you can't expect to drive as aggressively as Max has this weekend and expect somebody like Hamilton to just concede. At best the whole thing is a 50/50... I just don't think he's ever going to change. This season could get ugly if this continues, because I doubt Hamilton is going to let Verstappen simply bully on track. There should have been some warnings after the Sprint race to keep it hard, but keep it clean, because it was almost inevitable what happened today.
Max could have got around that corner without such a tight or aggressive line. His ability to not, in the absolute heat of the moment, step back and consider how he could have done things differently, is what holds him back at times. His pure speed and sheer desire to win and dominate will also make him a champion one day. Thankfully for us, for now Lewis and in the future Charles, Lando, Carlos, George will all ensure that there should be a fight for any of those title(s).
The sheer arrogance to think everyone should just get out of your way or risk crashing and then lay the blame squarely at your opponents feet without even taking an ounce of responsibility is infuriating to see. Especially when his fans try saying everyone is blaming Lewis when all the footage and opinions of people actually involved in F1 (RBR aside) that I've seen so far are saying it was a 60/40 for one or the other or a racing incident. Only RBR and Max's fans plus Lewis' haters are saying 100% Lewis fault. I don't know why I still read social media when it comes to F1 as I just leave the experience angry at the sheer ignorance and stupidity people show.
The whole bloody things was avoidable had heads been cooler. You can make a pass difficult without having to be all over the track... But that behavior is going to keep going if they're in a similar situation. I'm all for had racing and love to see it, bit if you come off worse then you've gotta accept your role in it.
The fact Horner wouldn't even let Ted say what Lewis/Merc said shows their arrogance. He said do your own analysis. I wanted Ted to tell him well we have and most of us think it was a racing incident. Someone needs to put Horner and Marko in their place tell them how it is instead of letting them think they are king d**ks all of the time. I honestly believe they influenced the penalty with their Lewis tried to kill Max crap and this made the stewards feel like they had to blame someone and since Max was in the wall the only person they could penalise on track was Lewis. For me it was 100% racing incident, both could have backed out, neither did. Both knew where the other was and in their own way had a right to the corner. Sometimes this happens, look at Lewis/Bottas a few years back to see how you can still give room on Copse.
Said the same for years... Nobody seems to have ever said to Max that you don't have to win every battle, so long as you're winning the war. Hamilton clearly isn't innocent in what happened today, but faced with what Max has dished out on track, there has to be a response that says, if this is the way we want to play it, be prepared for some in return. This could get spicy, but it typical fashion, it probably won't. They may not even be close next race. But clearly Max won't change his approach and Hamilton seems willing to play the game.
