Not sure why Max was defending this one so hard. He's got the car advantage atm and a substantial points advantage. It's those decisions that may stop him ultimately winning. Let is go, keep Hamilton in sight, wait for DRS... Win.
I would love to see side by side in cockpit view of the incident as looks like Lewis didn't change the steering angle.
If it wasn't Max or Hamilton it would be a 5 or 10s penalty. But in this case it obviously is different.
sticking a wheel up the inside is 'dirty driving', unlike Max's swiping, weaving, and sticking a wheel up the inside.
I suspect a medium penalty- time penalty of some sort so that it’s not too harsh or too soft. Prior to that though it was ****ing phenomenal racing though - this is the stuff we want to see, absolutely inch perfect battling until that point.
I'm all for a bit of squeezing and making a pass hard, but If it catches you out, then it's on you really.
Max wanted them to be less than an inch apart so he could keep the pressure up, he's only got himself to blame imo.
Honestly I think that's Hamiltons fault.. But verstappen needs to know when he's being squeezed and when to give up. Couple of corners earlier Hamilton was 100% in front and verstappen basically defended by saying hit me or give me back the position. Hamilton will get a penalty but will still get points. Verstappen is out of the running and won't.
I think everything that was going on from corner 1 to that point is going to play a part in this decision.
I know it won't happen as Sky adore Horner and Toto, but I wish they'd ask them in a interview if they're embarrassed at how petulant they sound?
