Tbf, we're looking at a major crossroads here. We know the first case is due to be concluded in the next few weeks. The second is likely to be greenlit or not in the next few weeks. You're either getting a positive/negative result in the first one and then a positive/negative result in the second one. Either way, the door is closed or opened.
Popped in to remind everyone that the PIF/RB/AS takeover is NOT going to happen. You’re wasting your finger muscles here.
But the legal bread bloke tweeted a pic of a book. And it was green. I’m already drunk from all the cans.
I don't even understand what you're trying to say here. Folk are saying we're set for another long wait, and the truth is we aren't. Arbitration and the validity of CAT will be decided soon. Realistically, if either goes in the club's favour the takeover is happening. If both do not then it's off for good. Sorry, I forgot, you were the one all for calling the whole thing off a week or two ago.
Ah, I forgot about that indication that he already knew we’d lost. And will lose again, and again, and again etc etc
I wouldn't be so certain about that. We've been told there are definite deadlines time and time again and they come to pass. I'm sure there could be an appeals process - or even if arbitration is won, what's not to say the ensuing owners and directors test doesn't drag out again? I'm basically of the view that the PL can do whatever they want and will probably continue to do so in their typically sluggish way.
Oh and waiter can we get 3 bottles of Newcastle Brown and a 10 piece pizza with two of the pieces separate. Nick here would like to take one last photo to piss them off.
See, but that's my point, friend. The PL are not a legal body. They're a group of chimps behind a curtain claiming to be a well-run organisation with an O&D test. While arbitration may not be played in public, it does have a clear structure and a timeline. The neutrality of the arbitration panel means The league can't keep just delaying as they did last year. It doesn't matter if you want this or not, there's a clear roadmap to an ending with it. Now, where supposition enters the arena is in deciding why we got here. Personally, I think if the Premier League had a legitimate case to turn the takeover down they'd have done so last year and be done with it. It's not about moral arguments here, it's purely about how it aligns with the O&D test. I think they knew that test was weak as piss, as it allowed a number of questionable characters into the league, which in turn helped boost turnover and market share of TV rights. The problem is, when you're lax with the rules and you give so much power to those people you have to dance to their tune. The delay tactic was the only thing that didn't provide a clear decision and - in theory - kept everyone sweet. The league didn't have to defend their decision, the big six were kept happy, and if the day came when the Saudi's returned or the league wanted their money they could apply under a different set-up or the league could 'review it' and deem it ok. The thing is, the Saudi's would never buy a top six team. They're trying to launder the image, they're trying to build something they own and can take credit for. No amount of Champions League success or trophies will change the fact that big six all had that joy before they arrived. It was the same reason Benitez was enticed here. It's a legacy move. I want to bring what hasn't been before, and what better team than the one that's won **** all for decades? You know you've got the audience and the stadium, enough of a history to tap into. Look how easy it was to stir up a large section of our support. You're not doing that at a club that's used to winning ****, they just want to win. We just want to try. The floor and ceiling are massive for us.
Do you even have a sense of humour? Look at what you posted. It was like something Michael Owen would say. It’s called a joke? FFS why always on the attack. Lighten up Pal!
From Reading about the way arbitration works once a decision is made that is it and I don’t think it can be appealed. So if the conclusion is separate then they have to then apply the O & D test based on the specified owners. But your right they could still delay things. Although I don’t think they will. Arbitration will be resolved soon. If it’s in favour of us then this whole saga should be over soon. But if it’s in favour of the PL then who knows what happens? CAT could be thrown out. CAT takes place and takes months if not years. CAT takes place and PIF finally walk away. Myself personally if CAT starts then I don’t think it’s good news for us. Just my opinion! NOTE for anyone, this is not me saying it is off. I repeat I am NOT saying it’s off!!!!
@Sheikh_of_Araby remember the note in the CAT case appeal for jurisdiction about the ARB expedited point stating in July! Does that mean that there “has” to be a decision in July? Or just that the hearing just has to start in July? Or is it neither!
Far too much negativity on this... It's going to go through.. Simple as that! I don't care when even if its next year that's great.
Expedited hearing. The hearing is this month. However, NUFC can ask for an expedited decision if to delay will cause prejudice. I'd say delays in planning for the season qualify.
