Assuming he's fit (and I haven't heard that he isn't) then it would madness not to play Butterfield if Richardson doesn't make it. Yes Cork can play there, but I would much rather see a natural RB play at RB.
Richardson went off injured on Saturday...obviously don't know the extent of it but believe it was his hamstring, so he may well be struggling for Tuesday. NA might decide to drop Cork back there or bring in Butterfield, personally I'd bring in Butterfield and keep Cork in midfield.
What attention to detail. NA just said in Player that they weigh players before and after the match, measure dehydration levels and feed and water them accordingly. No sneaking in a mars bar then.
I really can't call this one, I reckon it'll be our toughest game yet. They've got just as much confidence as us at the moment and there's no doubt that so far this season Saints and West Ham are the best sides in the division. I predict a midfield battle (that's where the game will be won or lost), so I reckon we should pack the middle and play Rickie as a loan striker.
No one can decide on this one with the bookies offering virtually identical odds for either side to win. Therefore its a certain 2 - 0 to saints.
I'm a bit worried about this match as West Ham are probably the toughest team we'll face and i really don't want to lose at home, been so long now that i don't know how i'll handle it haha,it'll probabaly end in a draw which i'll be happy with as it'll take us in to the Reading game still on top and i think we'll beat them.Would be amazing if we beat West Ham,Middlesbrough lose and Derby don't pick up 3 points as we will then be FIVE points clear at the top! Table would really look beautiful then! COME ON YOU REDS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know I've done my little prediction for this one already, but here was my comment on the Saints v WHU thread posted by the West Ham supporter, a couple of weeks back. This'll do for me... please log in to view this image I've a feeling this one's not even going to be close. We'll spank WHU. Sorry, I just think we will. We might even rack up a cricket score. Well, I thought... why not..? Being all very serious about it isn't going to change anything one iota. Besides, we're perfectly capable of it. Let West Ham worry about us, rather than the other way round.
Can you imagine if we did spank them 4 or 5? Blimey.... I'm just going to have a little moment now to think about that!!!
To be fair, we put 4 past Birmingham and Watford at home and 5 past Ipswich on the road, never expected that to happen, so....
This is all very remeniscent of when we played West Ham at the Dell in 1966 - 67, our first season in the old Div 1, and with 3 of the 1966 World Cup winning team playing for West Ham. I don't think many Saints fans fancied our chances much that day. Naturally, Saints thrashed them 6-2.
A full house with two of the best teams in the League going toe to toe, it couldn't possibly be a 0 0 draw could it?
