Leeds close to signing Matheus Cunha apparently. Very highly rated so be interesting to see how he gets on. A “bargain” at £30m according to the article I read, shows how ****ed we are financially

 

Riqui Puig is a name I’ve heard before. Young midfielder, has fallen out of favour with Koeman.

Not really. Even under Cortese we didn't spend that much on one player. 30 mill is not a bargain in my book for the players that Leeds can attract.

 

£30m now is probably about relative to what we were paying for players under Cortese.

Yeah Cortese was what 7/8 years ago now? The TV deal has gone up loads since then. £30m is probably what £10-£15m was then

 

Not sure it's that extreme. I'd say 20mill back then is now 30 mill.

Supposed to be very highly rated this guy. Palace having a good transfer window, apparently. But they need to sign a lot of players to cover who they've let go and Vieira's not managed in the Prem before.

 

Really good player. I’m curious to see how much they paid for him - could be well over £20 million. Chelsea raising the funds of Haaland?

 

We had revenues of £150m in 2018-19 (pre-pandemic); in our first year back in the PL, it was £71.8m. So one a pure revenue basis, £15m = £30m is actually a shade low.

 

Funds likely aren't the concern, but Financial Fair Play is. To greatly increase their wage budget requires that Chelsea generate profit on player sales, because that allows one to exceed what would otherwise be the limits.

 

In all honesty and seriousness , am I the only one who thinks relegation is a REAL prospect next year ?

if **** for brains won’t put money into the club what chance have we got ?

I’m actually feeling happy at the moment ( no dwarf jokes ! ) .

 

Relegation is always a possibility for us at the moment. And I do think that it's just a matter of time under this ownership. However, until the transfer window is over and we know who is staying, going and who we've brough in. It's impossible to make a proper judgement.
