...is criminally one footed. I noticed it in the Blackpool game last season, but it was incredibly noticeable today.

Sooner or later, one of two things will happen:

    1. Defenders willl realise and he'll become ineffective

    or

    2. Pards will do to him what he did to Jonas and turn him two-footed, as even Jonas' wrong-footed crosses cause chaos.

I hope it's the latter, but it could be a problem.

Watch that Everton highlights video again, it's very obvious.

I dont necessarily think it's a problem though, he's such a tricky player he always has the ball on his left.

Well Jonas got the assist today with his left so it's working!

I think Ben Arfa has shown earlier in his career that it doesn't matter.

    Heather Mills is one footed.....

Anyways Ben Erfa will be a good player for us once ....

    1.) He gets match fit.
2.) He realises its the premiership and you just dont get to long on the ball and...
3.) He learns how to pass the ball at the right time.

One-footed he may be, but Ben Arfa completely changed the game when he came on yesterday.

You can't underestimate the doubt put in defenders' minds every time he runs at them.

I think he has looked poor since his return!! trying far too hard, giving possession away in dangerous areas, but he will settle and the potential is there!!

Not an issue for me as long as your good peg is fantastic, which it is.

I was going to make a thread about him, but not about his one footedness. Even in those 'highlights' he has pace and trickiness, but he gave the ball away at least 6/7 times. Now a lot of our players were pushed up at this point and lets say Spurs were more clinical up front, and 3 of those times resulted in a goal. Can we afford him to be SO flair based or do we need to put the reins on a little bit?

I know he's still only getting minutes under his belt and will take time to begin to flow. But thinking back to games against Blackburn and Stoke last season - we had a couple of mistakes, all of them were punished - I do think its something we'll need to be conscious of!

I think you have to accept players like them for what they are. Most of the loss of possession was down to be too eager to impress and general rustiness. You can tell he's chomping at the bit. To get those sorts of players into the team you have to be set up to do some of their work. Saying that when he was sharp and fit last season against Everton he didn't shirk the graft getting back on the left. I think he has some work to do to get in the team even if I thought Best was well below par yesterday.
