Fascinating. When Big Ben is softening his stance makes me wonder if the PL are a bit more worried now.
Jacobs effectively admitting that PIF are separate and that the takeover is happening. Bearing in mind that he claims to have a source within the PL.
He has said that the PL are unable to prove that KSA controls PIF because of the complexity and levels of separation. He has effectively conceded that PIF are separate, that NUFC will win arbitration and that under PL rules, the takeover will happen.
He might be busy. It’s not over. It’s all about separation I tell you this. I’d love it, just love it if he was busy. You know he’s got to go to arbitration and get a result. He’s got to get that Panel to accept separation.
The interesting thing is that the PL has to prove that there is no separation. They have to prove that MBS/ KSA will be the ones making decisions in relation to NUFC. The whole issue of PIF-KSA is a bit of a red herring. It is whether it is the Saudi state that will run NUFC. It is not enough to say "well PIF did this or did that on orders from MBS." The PL must provide proof that MBS will be the owner of NUFC and will be making the day to day decisions. That is completely absurd. The PL cannot prove that conclusively. That is why they will lose arbitration.
