There was once a time when I was convinced Dexter Blackstock and Leon Best were going to become the strike partnership to propel us to glory.
I had a football manager game where blackstock beat the England goal scoring record including either 3 or 4 goals in a 5-1 World Cup final win So someone programming the “PA” into that game must have agreed with you at some point in time (since I don’t think I edited it)
We bought him for £1.68m. We can't say we developed him, but I would like to think we improved him over the 3 years he was here. Hopefully this low fee is due to a sell on clause.
So who is left we’d like to see move on? Lemina Long N’Lundulu Obafemi Valery Ely possibly Then obviously Ings and Vestergaard who we don’t really want to move on but might leave, and I’ve seen some talk of wanting rid of one of Djenepo/Redmond as well. So still a fair few on the outs front, Semmens might be pretty busy the next 6 weeks or so
Djenepo still has potential to develop. I still think there is a decent player in Redmond, but he needs to reboot his career and I’m not sure it works for either of us for him to continue here at this point. All the others can go, although I’d like to see what Obafemi can do on loan first, I still reckon he could go on to be a really good striker.
