Italian sides set up very defensively but it usually works, and they're successful in club and international football. Do you think they give a toss if they don't play attractive football? You play to win at all costs, not to entertain.
Our chance to correct the goalscoring comes this weekend, against a poor Watford team. I watched them against Nottingham Forest a few weeks ago, and they were awful. I think we will give them a real good hiding come saturday, and hopefully bring some confidence into our strikers. (Fryatt and McLean). Waghorn looks to be returning for the game which will bring a positive to the team, he's the big strong, fast, and eye for goal player we need against this team. Bring it on! UTT
I think we need to stop worrying i think it's only going to take 1 game where we socre the goals and beat a team 3 or 4 - 0 and then our strikers will be scoring i hope
I am worried we aren't scoring more. There's only so many times that you can say "we are playing well, it will come good...". but here's a couple of stray thoughts (you know I like statistics). From The Football League website: - in terms of "attempts on target" we are joint 7th in the league - in total attempts we are joint 5th (Peterborough are 1st and look what good its done them). - we are also joint 3rd in hitting the wordwork. to me, this doesn't support the case that we are defensively oriented, nor does the evidence of my own eyes at the games. If we had scored 1 more goal per game we would be 3 points clear at the top.
Stewart & Waghorn along with Koren & Brady are our 4 most potent attacking threats IMO! Until they are all on the field, I don't think we cannot fully judge
