I'm a bit concerned too. We seem to be looking at giving chances to a number of players who have had injury problems over the last few years, as an actual scouting strategy. The thing is, pretty much all of these injury prone players have been injured for spells for us.
Yeah, I think it must be part of the strategy - it's a way to get better players for a smaller fee. I guess for every Amos there is hopefully someone fully over their injury who goes on to fulfil their potential.
Wasn't there similar concerns with Johansen? I might be remembering that wrong but he ended up ever present.
I don't think he was touted as being g injury prone. However, it was said that he'd been out of the squad and hadn't had much game time.
We're going to have a stronger squad than last season, with or without Johansen. Although I'll of course be over the moon to make the squad even better with Johansen.
Really like this Jimmy Dunne signing, young CB, held his own in the Prem last season, hungry to get games under his belt. Whisper it quietly, but getting our business done early, in time for a full pre season may prove very astute.
Yes. Not sure about the 'held his own in the Prem' based on only 3 appearances (according to the Beeb) but I do like the comment of Warburton. If he trains well he can get into the first team. Competition has to be motivational not only for new players but present incumbents also so it is up to them to make their case to be given the privilege of being in the starting line up.
3 appearances and 1 goal isn’t too shabby. Sean Dyche doesn’t play you in his defence if you’re not competent at being a defender first and foremost, I think he’ll be tailor made for this division.
Ah yes that was it, I was misremembering. Given our business so far I'd be delighted to get this one over the line as well.
Dyche wanted to renew his contract and was pretty positive about the lad. He said he had a great attitude but still needed to learn how to play at the very top level. Do for me.
It great to see the players coming in. And just waiting for one to leave fooolham to return to where he can make a difference. Are they anymore due out?? Kane did have a couple of league 1 and sides after him, and I doubt we will get to see the multi million pounds he thinks he is worth..
Beginning to look like we are going to have a serious bash at this league, looking up rather than down. Fingers crossed then…….
I seen enough of him at Sunderland to know he's easily good enough for the championship. A modern ball playing defender. You have yourself a good one there
