What happens on freedom day that we can’t do now? Just not having to wear masks if we don’t want to? Has felt normal for the last month or so really
I really don't know what to make of it. I think we're at a stage now where we can relax any remaining restrictions. It seems like increased infections aren't leading to increased hospital numbers or at least not severe symptoms in large numbers. At the same time I agree with Saintmagic, lockdown is pretty much over anyway and has been for a couple of months. I'm not keen on the over-inflated "freedom day" tag as it'll probably hype the morons and result in drunken louts kicking off as well. We could've just withdrawn the restrictions in a very matter of fact way and just left it as that, but we always need the "win" so politics innit.
Have they actually called it freedom day, or is that the media? Makes **** all difference to me, I'll just keep on keeping on. People have been out and about in large crowds getting pissed all the way through the Euro's so this ended ages ago in England. I think it will cause aggro between people who can't wait to have a go at someone for not wearing a mask and people who can't wait to stop wearing a mask. I think they should have carried on making them at the very least advisory on public transport and in supermarkets and such like.
I think it's a fuking stupid idea. Why do it at a time when infections are on the increase. Then again, hospitalizations aren't, which means the vaccine is obviously working.And we do have to learn to live with it at some stage so, yeah I'm with it, I suppose.
Looking forward to it though I'll probably stick with mask for a while in certain situations. Who's actually calling it freedom day though lol? Morons.
