Matt Law’s claiming Nuno wants to go two up top this season and that Ings is who he wants to partner Kane.
the question was about Dusseldorf, not Leipzig. Dusseldorf are called Fortuna D. I think. The only connection is that the Monster Energy company is based there I think? Could just be a HBIC ism.
HBIC refers to Red Bull Leipzig as Monster Energy Dusseldorf. There's no connection between the American drink and the West German tier 2 football team, as far as I know. Lacroix was linked with RB by Bild and this is the story his post is about. It's in German and their site doesn't like adblockers, so I won't link it.
Leads me to wonder what happens to Sonny then, who is the ideal candidate to play that role alongside Harry. Ings will cost a fortune that would be better spent elsewhere.
He wouldn't cost that much in this window, as he's only got a year left on his contract and has apparently turned down another one. £20m has been suggested, though I'm not convinced that would do it.
His injury record also makes me nervous. £20m would be a bet worth taking but like you say I’m not sure it would be enough. Edit: a bet worth taking if we lost Kane.
Maybe Nuno’s been reading my comments about how I don’t find his style enjoyable and so is coming into Spurs with the aim of playing all out attack? Lol. Ings and Kane up top, Son and Lucas/ Bergwijn/ New player on the wings, Reguilon/ Sess and Doherty/ Tomiyasu bombing from FB. Ings should be pretty affordable though as like PNP says he’s got just a year on his contract and isn’t renewing.
Thanks for the explanation of Monster FC, I knew you guys would know! I'm sure that will happen here eventually, and part of the case will be that although those teams are allowed to do that by their home federations only, they also regularly get into European competitions and get to use their same (advertising) name. Sheikh Etihad and Gangsta Chelski FC will argue that is unfair. Edit: As a matter of interest I got my Etihad and Emirates mixed up and couldn't remember which one was Man City. So I Googled City's sponsors and found that in addition to the completely independent airline Etihad, they are also sponsored by the equally independent tech company "Etisalat" (HQ Abu Dhabi) and the obviously independent travel firm "Visit Abu Dhabi". So nothing wrong there then.
The fact we're also talking about a player who shares a name with an overpriced flavoured Perrier makes the irony a lot harder to resist...
Bit of a big one - Di Marzio is claiming we’ve had a bid accepted of €30m plus Sanchez for Kounde. Now gonna be down to Fabio persuading him to join as earlier rumours suggested he weren’t too keen on us.
Huge transfer if true considering how much we paid for Dave. I know his stock ain’t exactly risen much since but you’d think the total ‘cash value’ of this would be north of €50m taking it all into account. I know we (fans at least) want rid of Dave but it’s a big fee all things considered. I have reservations about Kounde given his height and it remains like you say up to the club to sell a vision to him. Not sure how I feel about this one.
seems like there’s a few bids being accepted from us need to see the non photoshopped pics with replica shirt held aloft quick sharpish like
The saddest thing it’s probably the going rate now for a highly rated CB, unless you can find a gem obviously. So whilst it is a fair bit of money plus a reasonably well valued player, if you want to sign what will hopefully be a top player then this is what we’ve gotta do. Convincing him will be the sticky point though. CL with Sevilla, linked with Madrid and yet we’re here saying come join us in the ECL, lol.
Don’t care about fees, I trust the club will only spend what they can afford to. Is this Kounde any good? I haven’t seen much of him and know very little about him.
Kounde said no, according to Marca Okay, so now we go to Plan B: can we turn Dier into cash + Lacroix?
