That is a good question... it has like with all other transfer news gone quiet... which I suppose is good management/control of the action going on.
Someone has separately said he’s heard Loic Remy is on his way . Or …… now that would be very underwhelming
We have some right tools allegedly 'supporting' our club This one is a particularly nasty piece of work
The state of that Tweet man, even if he can't cut it at a higher level he will be in the job longer than if he doesn't get promotion this time i.e. a season getting promotion and half a season to show he isn't up to it or full season at most to not get promoted.
Must admit to being a tad concerned about our lack of transfer activity tbh. Thought this season would be different with Speakman etc in place, in regards to doing our business early to get the team more preseason to gel etc, particularly considering the amount of players have left and need replacing.
I actually feel for Johnson. He's being given an ever increasingly tough task the less preseason time he has to work with new players or a full squad and he's the one that will take the flack and ultimately end up paying the price if we underperform.
Keep the faith marra. Why would KLD invest,as he obviously has, in the off field management of the club,if he wasn't prepared to invest in the on-field......which after all,is our business? I think it's a difficult market at the moment, but,it's still open and there's a lot of activity to take place yet.
Agree. Think we have to trust ourselves here....we've got some savvy people on board.....we aren't being led by Margaret Byrne!
I've just noticed that St Johnstone have got Europa qualifying games to see if they can get into the group stages. The lad from that club we are linked with (great player) will probably want to see if they can qualify for the group stages before deciding if he wants to jump ship to Sunderland. The last qualifying round is the 25th or 26th August. Situations like this could be holding a lot of transfers up.
I fail to understand the negativity on here. Our first game is nearly 4 weeks away which is more than plenty time to sign new players, who will no doubt be training with their current clubs so their fitness won't be a problem. Listening to the doom mongers on here I can only assume they've never played the game, since most footballers will fit into a new team quite seamlessly. For goodness sake, give the new regime a chance, remove your dark cloak and you may be pleasantly surprised.
Stan Varga.......signed by Peter Reid on 27th July 2000......played v Arsenal on the 19th August 2000.......I rest my case!
