Until they kept banging on about skin colour this was completely irrelevant for most England fans .

Which means they are over represented , I don't think anyone begrudges them this it's a meritocracy where they are selected on ability not skin colour .

Diversity is only a strength if the players identify as English first and their ethnicity a distant second.

They made the final about race and the 11 white men won .

It wouldn't matter who missed the penalties if they hadn't politicised and racialised it.
