Need to keep Obafemi. Send him on loan but don't sell him. If we let him go, on top of losing Jankewitz, I'm gonna be in a bad mood even before the season starts.
If he can be arsed, he's worth way more. But he's not worth keeping in the camp if he's not going to play, and serves as a distraction.
Is it possible we are being a tad fickle? Losing a guy who's only start lasted 2 minutes and has done nothing else, together with an attacker whose strike rate is barely half of Shane Long's in the 3 years he's featured is hardly a great loss. Lemina has been slated as a waste of money for most of his career here but suddenly he's worth millions? Just wondering .... Edit: The common factor with Jankewitz and Lemina is that they big themselves up more effectively off the pitch than on it.
Think you're being a bit tough on Obafemi. Most of his appearances were as a sub. He has only actually started 9 games, and yet has 4 goals. That's not too shabby at all, and remember all of that as a teenager. He's still very young and providing he gets over his injuries, he could be a real asset. Jankewitz, none of us know the full story there, but he was really highly thought of, and yet not given a chance to redeem himself. Of course, if he really is the twat that some suggest he is, then it's no big loss.
Really feels like this is the summer where we clear out the majority of deadwood in the squad, which is great. As long as we get in at least some replacements (over and above Romain and Theo).
This 100%. But Ralph strikes me as the sort of guy who own't settle for second best. If the player he really wants can't be secured for the price we are prepared to pay I can see him delaying the deal until January. I'd we quite happy with that. I'm sure we will see a couple more new faces but with Romeu, Diallo, Salisu and Smallbone all in the mix too, the squad will not look too shabby at all. I predict we will also see an academy product breaking into the first team this year in a big way. My money would be on Caleb Watts but keep an eye on Rodriguez and Mitchell.

Yes I was being tough, but only to make a point. I really like the guy. I don't think he's yet played a full match for us though. Either he has a fitness issue or the club are being extraordinary careful with his development. Yet to score at St Marys as well if I'm not mistaken. Would like to see him make it but not yet convinced (same for N'Lundulu). Still - what do I know? A few years ago I was suggesting we build the whole team around Simon Gillett....
