Beverly 1.45 Sambucca Spirit On a dangerous mark and last run wasn't without promise in my opinion. Paul Midgeley/Ben Robinson combo amongst the winners recently (40/1 shot at York last week). I've the feeling a 5lb penalty and the stiff finish at Beverly will prevent another front running success for last weeks easy winner Rose Bandit. Good luck whatever you back today
Downpatrick 15,55 Mr. Jackman 10/3 with WH, others 3/1 16,30 Command Chain 20/1 e/w with bet365 three places, 18/1 with WH and Sky four places
I’ve followed you here mate. Good luck, I bet a few of these were drank up and down the Country on Sunday night
A former selection of mine runs at Killarney this evening. The Blue Brilliant was making her second start when I fancied her and she looked like winning until Party House came with a strong run to catch her. Party House stepped up in trip next time out and would have gone close but for the fact that she wandered right across the track and lost her momentum in the process when finishing third to Sir Lucan and Wordsworth in a Listed race. Wordsworth went on to be 3rd in the Irish Derby, albeit well beaten. The Blue Brilliant went on to win next time but as 15/8 Fav I didn't post her here because I didn't see her as particular value and I am a bit reluctant to tip favourites unless they are value or a bigger price. In any case The Blue Brilliant won her maiden in ready style last time and although she didn't beat anything of real note it was a promising enough progression from her previous race. Rated 90 after that win, The Blue Brilliant steps into handicap company and is in a mixed age race where she in nearly the classiest horse in the field and faces some exposed looking rivals. The Fav is the Aidan O'Brien trained Sweet Molly Malone, a fellow 3YO, and after three goes at 7F she stepped up 2F to score from a mark of 78 on her handicap debut. Up 8 lbs now to 86 I feel her odds are influenced by her trainer and I prefer the profile of The Blue Brilliant. The Harrington stable are ticking away on a 12.5% strike rate and I felt The Blue Brilliant was the one to be with at 10/3. 7.25 Killarney The Blue Brilliant 10/3
Well, that was hard work but The Blue Brilliant managed to wear them down to score by 3/4 of a length. I suspect the handicapper may have her measure once she is re-assessed but a win is a win. Off to study a big priced one for Yarmouth tomorrow.
