And I dont intend being around on here much today. No nothing to do with Bruce or the team. Nothing to do with Sunderland. Its my birthday so Osca and I will have a party, cake and maybe a nice peice of steak each for our dinner, he could not care less about Bruce or results, a bit of steak and all is well with the world. I have read a few questions about why we fools keep on supporting Bruce, still dont understand but its not supporting Bruce its just not getting our blood pressure up over somthing we can do little about. Well TBH nothing about, been there done it and spoilt far to many days through it. My honest view is Bruce cant survive, no longer about results its all about feel, its gone to far and Bruce and is future is all people are talking about. Things reach a point where the momentum cant be turned and we are there and Short, Quinn and Bruce all know it, so do the players. I will enjoy my day and week, look forward to next Saturday then off to see us play Villa, Bruce and his future are Shorts concern, I trust him to get it right. If you feel better seeing how many ways you can say Bruce is a clown, lets have a protest, prick, geordie and **** then get it out of your system. If it helps telling me I'm a prick then a prick I will be but it will change nothing. I will support Bruce for as long as he is manager not because I love him or think he will get us what we want, I will support him because he is doing his best and he is the manager. When he goes I will support his replacement. Have a great day, I intend to.
Have a good one syd don't let Osca eat all the cake. Got back late last night and could hear the grumblings of some of the barcodes about only getting a point against a very good Spurs side, how times have changed that was us saying those things this time last year. Said last week that I wouldn't read much into the game yesterday that was until the team was texted to me and immediately 2 questions sprang to mind. 1. Why no strikers against a fragile Arsenal defence? 2. Does Bruce actually want the job? The next 3 games (if he lasts that long) are games we should be at least not losing, these will be the games that decide his fate.
Happy Birthday MATE, it is a bit damp and cold for a long walk with your little dog but do enjoy today. You never know SB may leave today and it can be a double celebration! After the 4-6 formation of yesterday he does not have many supporters left (although as you suggest perhaps the two that count Short and Quinn), unlike you who have many friends wishing you well.
Happy Birthday! I understood the 4-5-1 formation yesterday, I just didnt understand why the "1" was Sess and not Ji (Wickham has had a niggling groin injury) I understood the Larsson substitution, as he has a broken toe. I didnt understand the Sess sub, when we were chasing the game and Sess was the one creating. But as long as he can explain it to Short, then he will stay manager. Next 3 games are key, for both our season and Bruce's future as manager.
Happy birthday Syd. Great post. I wanted to say something similar myself but I daren't. The only thing I'd add is that Bruce got a nice big contract in February so it would cost a fair few bob to pay him off. I'm not sure Short would fancy that.
Happy birthday Syd . mine's on the 29th hope I get a better present from the team than you did. 66 years old and only a F.A. cup in all that time
