I felt like Italy figured England out towards the very end of the 1st half. England did well but being a boring defensive side wasn't enough in the end.
Southgate cocked up. There’s a subtle difference between trying to win a game and trying not to lose one. He of all people should know about penalty shoot outs. And then to have the audacity to throw on penalty takers in extra time is a ****ing **** show. Especially when it’s 120 minutes. Talk about throwing players under the bus. He’s an idiot! He takes the blame, not the penalty takers and he should be ashamed of himself for doing that to them kids!
They allowed them to get going and their confidence grew yes. Southgate plays that way and he will never change that approach. The fans booing national anthems are now sore, so I'm taking pleasure knowing that. I don't England will get a better chance than that ever again. I honestly don't care.

I really don't I found the entire thing absolutely hilarious, but I didn't want to upset the apple cart. I made my feeling clear after Denmark.. Hopefully we win the world cup.. This is a mickey mouse tournament and if we'd won there was an asterisk against it.
Italy 100% deserved it, that softens the blow a lot for me to be honest. Ultimately we were the second best team in the competition and finished second, that's pretty darn good. Pcikford did his bit in saving 2 pens, to only concede 2 goals in the tournament is great but lets not ignore that we only looked fluent in one game (maybe add the second half against Germany) yet stuttered in the rest. I still have no idea what Mason Mount actually does.
First half - We played like a PL side and they couldn't live with us. Second half onwards - We tried to play like a European side and failed.
Can we please stop this Southgate love now. He’s a pragmatic clever dick who seems to think he’s better than everyone else. He failed at playing he failed at club level and now he is failing at international. That performance after scoring was shocking.
