Was always going to be case with Rice and Phillips both in CM, Rice is a shutter and Phillips is a harrier. Both play to disrupt the opposition, rather than to playmake Meant you are relying on the Wingbacks to create the chances, but as soon as England scored they both dropped back to play as defenders.
