    Goalkeepers is the interesting one

On the one hand I think if Lev Yashin were playing today he'd likely be at Bayern, Gordon Banks would surely be England's first choice and Pat Jennings would probably be with us

On the other hand, Peter Shilton would probably be at someone like Palace while Rene Higuita would probably be in MLS as he'd drive managers in most other leagues spare

    Here's a better suggestion

Just lose the final so the threat of a snap election riding a wave of nationalism is off the table and we can enjoy the country for some point in the next five years

Good half two very good teams, Italy growing into the game, could still go either way - next goal wins

Don't tell Peter Shilton that Spurf said that, Shilton's still looking for new subjects to moan about for decades

In all honesty, I find them tedious to watch. They are defensively sound and efficient but boring.

V Scotland... 9 attempts and 1 on target.
    V Croatia .... 8 attempts and 2 on target.
V Czech Republic... 5 attempts and 3 on target.
    V Germany ... 9 attempts and 3 on target.
    V Denmark ... 20 attempts and 10 on target.
    V Italy ... First half ... 1 attempt 1 on target.

Given a choice it ain't how I wanna watch football to be honest...and I wouldn't pay to go watch it.

But in all fairness no one will give a **** in 45 minutes when they lift the trophy.
