A negative thread that Piskie will move

Enjoy is a little bit of a stretch - when watching a game I am pretty wound up.
The thread yesterday was about finances - nothing to do with the team. It was a pop at Gazidis who in his interview with Arsenal TV stated that the £160m in cash we have had to be used to cover expenses this season. That was bollocks, which I was posting on. I do believe the board are rotten.

The post at half time was exactly how I felt. Boosted by hope in the first 20 minutes, deflated in the last 25. Hence 'soul destroying'.

The posts tonight are in response to what I belive to be fundamentally wrong. The kind of dictatorship and cencorship displayed was out of order, and I am highlighting the fact that it had nothing at all to do with housekeeping. Piskie overstepped the mark.

Off course you do. But you should also take into account people that have become sick to the back teeth of the CONSTANT wave of articles that focus on the bad side of Arsenal. Its become too much.

 

I'll repeat again, I'm not preventing anyone from having their say. I haven't censored, berated, deleted or run down anyone's comments.

 

I think the number of threads with particular leanings reflects the problems at the club and how it affects fans. To me, merging threads would deny members the right to debate specific points raised in those threads. Yesterday Jayram made a thread about finances. Mr Samurai's thread was on the problems of the club off and on the pitch. They should rightly be allowed to stand on their own because they raised different issues for discussion.

Merging today's match threads into Jayram's finance thread of yesterday serves only for the moderating style to be questioned. It leaves the approach open to accusations of motive or put it another way, the existence of an agenda that is not wholly conducive to free expression.

But it could be said that you chose to segregate them. Fair comment I think.

 

The board was being drowned out with the negative threads, some of them were repeats of the same thing.
If all you see when you click on the Arsenal board is the negativity, then it doesn't allow any room for a balanced view.
If there were several threads repeating that Arsenal are great, RVP is world class, etc,
then I would have merged them too

All it would take is for members to post the opinion which I imagine you would refer to as positive threads to counter the so-called negative threads. And if there was sufficient opinion to counter the issues raised in the negative threads then the style and content of those threads would change as we have seen on this board.

I appreciate you are an optimist but there are many here who need to express their opinion on what they consider to be problems with the club, both on and off the pitch. To merge threads where the original issues raised are different has the effect of stifling debate since the trend of the various debates are lost in one mega thread.

 

That's fine, but when the whole board is littered with negative threads, then it has the effect of stifling any other opinion.

Tomorrow I am going to write twenty threads about how RVP is world class.
