Yeah just did a post on it as well (2 mins slower). Sad news . (The death, not me posting too slowly)
I have no idea how people used to watch motor sports when these things were a regular occurrence. Stuff like this cuts me up.
You should try and find 'Grand Prix: The Killer Years' online somewhere, amazing documentary and really eye opening of how F1 used to be where deaths were expected.
A sad reminder that motor-racing is dangerous, maybe the stewards will take a firmer view with some of the suspect driving we've been seeing of late, although my guess is they'll wait until an F1 driver dies first. A sad day for his family, although they can take some small solace in that he died doing what he loved.
Although I didn't know the bloke, I'd still like to offer my condolences. It is indeed a cruel reminder that motorsport is in no way easy and that these guys put their lives on the line every time they step in the car. Rest In Peace.
Watched him many times over the years in Indycars. A sad day for British and worldwide motorsport. A reminder that motorsport will always be a dangerous sport no matter what precauations are taken.
Horrible news - we should all stop and think about the drivers who create such pleasure for us - but put their lives at risk.
