I am thinking along the lines of loans. Would it not be a step up from u23s and be good for them. Cos lets face it it's cold as hell sitting on the bench in winter hoping for ten minutes at the end of a dead rubber.
Seems that Kiko is having a medical today at Elche and a deal announced early next week. It may well be a full transfer as negotiations are under way to terminate his contract. If that’s the case I hope Kiko accepts a lower settlement. So a loan with Leeds paying part of his wages A loan with a buy clause A transfer with strings to include 3 kids on loan Whatever happens it will happen very soon Our new keeper will have to be a freebie because we wont want to pay to get rid of Kiko and then pay again for his replacement we would be better off sitting him on the bench
A transfer to include 3 kids on loan (as long as they get reasonable playing time) would seem to be the best option, and even though Caprile is inexperienced he can't be any worse than Coco (I'm confident in that, even though I've never seen him play) and his wages are a lot lower.
Am I the only one that thought Casilla did a reasonable job for us! I can't think of too many glaring errors he made! The fact that Bielsa and the rest of the team have backed him speaks volumes!
I think you must be Matt. There seemed a big mistake in him every game, some he got away with, others not. There always seemed a nervousness about the back 4 too, when he was in. I think the fact he couldn't get his place back from a 20 Yr old spoke volumes.
I agree but he always makes me feel uncomfortable due to the mistakes he made early on. He actually had more clean sheets tham most in the Championship and played most of that season as first choice. We were promoted and he was the main keeper. He got the 8-week ban which was either wrong or not long enough depending on your view. He never moaned and went through a whole season as back up to a child. He played quite a bit for the U23s and kept more clean sheets helping them win a title too. He was never Billybigbollox with the kids. Circumstances, circumstances and I know Bielsa is unhappy about him going but accepts he needs to play football. He is way way better than Felix but has the same rep with many Leeds fans
Felix was on around £5k per week though and Casilla £40k per week so even if Casilla is a better keeper (which he isn’t imo) he isn’t eight times better, so using the moneyball concept he wasn’t value for money.
Does anyone know the deal with Pablo Hernandez because he is still under contract until next season………. Unless we agreed to terminate it? Pablo is still wanting to play football in Spain but as yet hasn’t signed with anyone. He is part owner of Castelon so not sure why he hasnt signed for them. Also why we havent got a deal with Castelon for them taking some of our kids, just seems obvious especially with having Pablo involved
Heres another for the U23s getting his first pro contract. Yesterday we had Alfie Hughes and young Snowdon and now Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen has penned a professional contract with the club. The 17-year-old has signed a two-year-deal at Elland Road, running until the summer of 2023. Last season the defender made appearances at both Under-18 and Under-23 level for the Whites.
Just been updating my U23 file and with Casey and Mujica being sold and the new additions we have 29 players registered as Leeds Utd players. From that list deduct Bogutsz, McCalmont, and Edmondson who are out on loan again, we have 26 players left. Of those I can see Hosannah, Huggins, Gotts, Stevens and Kamwa vanishing leaving 21 players. I expect more movements of inbound and outbound players. I will update before the season starts for a full U23 sticky
We played Thursday, Monday then Friday because of the covid outbreak in the squad recently. That's alot in RL terms. It's a harder game to recover from than football. To play Warrington away and then Catalans in 5 days is a tough ask. They've done very well recently. This young team could be going places. The signs are very promising. I'm not convinced by the coach tbh. Agar is a steady Eddie. He has steadied the ship but I don't think he is top end material.
I appreciate that they've had to play a lot of games close together and I'm certainly not having a go at them, but they did bring back a few of their more experienced lads last night. But it was still a good display especially in the first half. I still enjoyed it, even with the result.
England fined 26 grand for booing national anthem and a guy with a laser. 2 years ago Montenegro made monkey noises at England players and were fined less than 18 grand. Leeds fined 200 grand for watching a training session from a public footpath. It makes no sense.
Personally I don't think England should be fined for their fans booing or for the laser lad or girl. It's hard to police and search every fan. As for the booing, it's happened before and it'll happen again. It's every persons right to boo if they choose to. It's just another nail in the coffin for free speech. We should have fought our fine for spygate, another non event. I won't comment on the Montenegro fine because I'll get myself in trouble, but it's ironic that they have negro in their name.
