Whether anybody has any reservations or not, and its ok to be cautious, if he was signing for Wigan, Ipswich or Portsmouth today people would be losing their ****.
one of those 'best for both parties' signing, the lad was good enough to get an 11m price tag on him but seemed to fall out of favour for a while, dont think injury helped...i think he could quite easily do a job in the championship but dropping to div 3 might give him an 'easier' start to his rebuild and if he helps us get promoted he is ready for the next step as well. i think he is very much what we have been missing, an attacking midfielder this could be a very fruitful signing for everyone.
This is a very good point by the way. He'd have been a good signing had we gone up. Probably more as a squad option.
If he can produce half of that then will be a good signing. Positive in every way, passing forward, dribbling, shooting (both feet) and arriving in the box late for crosses ⚽️
possibly one of the better youtube vids i have seen...ie: not all his passes or shots resulted in a goal. looks like he has a bit of a mean free kick/corner in him as well which could give stewart plenty to get on the end of.
We need a decent holding midfielder now i think. I dont have much faith in Winchester, but attacking and creativity wise im happy. Embleton will be like a new signing aswell.
I appreciate no transfer is guaranteed to work out and this one may not. But on the face of it it is a hell of a signing. He has shown real quality in the past. My family in Norwich say he was brilliant when he went there and though he was a premier league player. One thing I think Johnson has done well is get players performing individually. I hope he does it again here because we will have a player on our hands. This to me is a sign of the level of players we want at the club. Worth being patient if a few more from his level are coming.

Looking at his stats etc when he was younger... he was very good, but has been in the doldrums for a few years now. Let's hope he comes good again! He was born in Orsett... played golf there!
