Understandably there is a lot of talk about Bruce and his future tonight but love him or hate him I donât see him going anywhere before next weekend, we can all say what we like but Short wont sack him after a 2-1 defeat at Arseanel. Now next week against a struggling Bolton team, well thatâs a different story, we just cant accept the Bolton are a great team, Coyle is doing a good job, we need to be at our best and above all a defensive formation. We have Bardo and Bendy back so we have options, what would you do? To me I would like Larsson on the right and Sess on the left with Wickham or Ji beside Bendy in a 4-4-2. Going with Bruce and Sess as second striker then at least put Bardo at LB and Richardson on the LW. Either would at least give good delivery from the flanks but option one would be my choice, I also am concerned about Mig but with Gordon still out it looks like he will stay. I have to say that despite his critics I think it will be hard on Richardson if he is dropped, I am far more uneasy with Turner but hey, one change will be a lot to ask for so even though I would drop Elmo, Turner and Mig I would accept from Bruce. MIG OSHEA..TURNER..BROWN..BARDO LARSSON..CATTS..VAUGHAN..RICHARDSON SESS BENDY Not my ideal but cant see even those changes TBH
Well Syd as you know the team you suggest is one I and others have argued for long and hard. The only person who does see it is you know who. Drop catts and no Elmore etC
Nevermind you could be 10th next week..........................well you cannot actually but it sounds good
Lazy Sunday, got back from Asia , little jet lag etc A few ideas for your Monday 6am sermon eg Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; Or close the wall up with our sunderland dead. In peace there's nothing so becomes a man As modest stillness and humility: But when the blast of war blows in our ears, Then imitate the action of the tiger; Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage; Then lend the eye a terrible aspect; Let pry through the portage of the head Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it As fearfully as doth a galled rock O'erhang and jutty his confounded base, Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean. Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide, Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof! Fathers that, like so many Alexanders, Have in these parts from morn till even fought And sheathed their swords for lack of argument: Dishonour not your mothers; now attest That those whom you call'd fathers did beget you. Be copy now to men of grosser blood, And teach them how to war. And you, good yeoman, Whose limbs were made in England, show us here The mettle of your pasture; let us swear That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not; For there is none of you so mean and base, That hath not noble lustre in your eyes. I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips, Straining upon the start. The game's afoot: Follow your spirit, and upon this charge Cry 'God for Bruce, England, and Saint George/James' See also - like a greyhound in the slips.
I guess you are watching Spooks, but back to Sunderland, Catts best attribute is his tackling and that has been negated cos he gets yellowed or redded. He is too slow and cannot pass and cannot score. Young Jack is a better prospect so is Meyler. The only question about Elmo is did SB visit Egypt some 20 odd years ago? Also why does he think he knows better than the player himself where they should play i.e. ess is a winger and Rico is not a LB
Next week: Mig Bardo Brown Turner Oshea Larson Catts Vaughan Richardson Sess Bendtner Do you notice anything Bruce? That's what they call a balanced team where each player will be comfortable on the ball. Thought I'd play Oshea where Fergie played him but I know you like to complicate things. Let's hope it's MON who picks this team.
