Seems pretty sensible. Doesn't actually say we can't spend on transfer fees, just that there's a cap on what we can spend. Must say, keeping KLP & Greaves has to be the no. 1 priority.
For some strange reason, I can't believe a word they say! This for example. ..... "Since securing promotion, we have received a number of significant bids from Premier League clubs for our players, all of which have been turned down". We have a mid-table budget too don't you know. Guffaw. Nothing wrong with cutting the cloth accordingly, but unfortunately it's not possible to know what's truth and what isn't. The 'he's moving his lips' saying has rarely been so apt.
I agree it doesn't. An interest-free loan is pretty appealing, I'd imagine it's almost impossible to get one right now.
Fair statement and explains what it is, I'd personally prefer to see us keep the players and take this loan then see greaves and doc go just to bring money in.
I think, it's fairly unusual for Premier League clubs to buy League 1 players. A good League 1 player may move up to the Championship in the 1 to 3 millionish, the same player after a good year in the Championship could be in the 5 8 or even 10 million range. Makes sense not to sell any of our good players yet.
It's clearly been in place all summer and hasn't altered our transfer business at all. Any news on further incomings? Expected Thomas to be in by now
It's gone a little quiet on him, as far as I knew it was almost done. I'd expect an outgoing or 2 over the next week I did hear of a very interesting CB today, it's totally left field and would be a great signing. But it's nowhere near close.
As I said before, an interest free loan would be more than appealing to the majority if. not nearly all the EFL under the current circumstances and consequently scores of clubs with the same embargo... so either, they have all found the money to pay it back, or theres something that smells like ......
The club is taking the piss the amount of money they have received via the Premier League and selling all our assets They can **** off and as someone who hasn’t missed a home game in 10 years and goes to to more than half the away games every season I’ll say what I want. ****ing shambles
A lot of clubs are in league 1 and 2 are running on their uppers but they haven't gone cap in hand to the EFL for an interest free loan. So a club who received decent transfer instalments for Bowen and McGuire decide to take the 0% interest free loans? City haven't even put the memberships on sale yet to raise a bit of cash. The statement is all spin and has taken Ehab all day to write it.
Why is the best run club borrowing money? Did all League One clubs take this loan and now face the same sanctions?
Interest free loans are good if you have money or a secure income stream, if you or your business is already running at a loss it just puts you deeper in the merde as the loan still has to be paid back.
So .. they've received significant offers from PL clubs for some of our players which of course they have strenuously rejected .. but a few paragraphs later they say if a fair offer comes in for one they'll consider it to allow the debt to be settled ... now what bit of that dont I believe ! Its either bollox or Looks like ehabs valuation of players is on par with his valuation of the club ! Sorry .. but don't believe a word that comes from his slimey mouth, bloke couldn't lie straight in bed !
I’m not going to use the phrase ‘to be fair to HDM’ because they’ve not early that, but even the EFL are referring to it as a ‘registration embargo’ which it doesn’t seem to be…
