My point is why do they need 3 pundits in the studio + Lineker, 2 more pundits on the pitch with another presenter + a commentator and a summariser, for one game of football?

In their defence the games they lost was one where the Eriksen incident. So I would be surprised if they were in any fit state of mind on that game. The options they were given were play it later that day, the next day or lose 3-0 by defect. I think you would struggle to find anyone who could concentrate not knowing fully what was going on with their teammate and number one player.
The next game was probably still in turmoil, and preparations for the game was waiting on news from Eriksen.
Since then they’ve beaten teams scoring 4 goals twice and only looked slightly nervous v Czechs. But only slightly, the most the game they stuck to their game plan and done the job.

After 60 mins never in doubt only one winner sterling and Kane outstanding . Southgate even took Grealish off and allowed the Danes out of their half for a bit. Fairs fair and all that.

Felt quite calm watching that. Dodgy (very) penalty but a winning goal felt inevitable. And Kyle Walker. The pace, Its like the six million dollar man defending.

He is good though, and fairplay he had some footsteps to fill so the lad done well.
Congratulations England, I’m confident and never thought I would say this but I actually think it is coming home for you all. My wife, kids and most of my cousins are English so I do want you to do it.

Imo the best team we've played has been Germany.
Not sure how Italy set up but wouldn't be surprised if we revert and employ the same set up as we did against Germany.

Fitting final with both sides unbeaten. I think England will need to be at their best to win this game, I don't see a performance like last night being good enough. Never a penalty IMHO but hey ho VAR proves yet again how poorly it is being utilised. But we were the better side. I would leave Saka out for Sunday he looked as though it all got to him last night, Foden or Grealish for me. The full backs Walker and Shaw have both improved as the tournament has progressed, but you can see both of them are struggling to keep their more adventurous/attacking club performances in check in this more safety first approach, they would both love to cut loose.

They rode their luck last night (mind you about we had some luck in tournaments) Pickford whose kicking is normally very good it was poor at times he looked like he was too pumped up just like Maguire another who needs to calm down or he will talk his way into trouble.

Too tight to call for me.

Euros | Page 34 | RefChat - The Refereeing Forum

Thought I would have a check for the refs view and like this line - Haven't seen Sterling fall that quickly since the day of the Brexit vote. Refs appear to be saying no foul.

I I expected England to best the Danes. In 1990, in 96 and 2018 it was hope not expect. Back to hope v Italy, not hopeless but needing to improve. Pickford will not play that badly again, Saka I don't think will play and last night was a step too far at his age, Henderson will have a part to play and he is a superior footballer to the two holding midfielders, Sterling is on fire, Kane is returning from looking unfit , Maguire and Stones look scary in the opponents box from set pieces .. Lots of good.

    Pickford's brain departs sometimes.
He and others say he's maturing.
I'm not so sure, the bigger the game the more he loses it.
Started for me when he was out control in the Liverpool derby launching himself at van Dijk.
If, as he should, have been sent off and penalty given the penny might have dropped earlier.
For the benefit of himself most of all.

I thought he was excellent in the previous match, not so good last night, he seemed a bit rattled at times , he made one really good save down to his right that was actually offside but he didn’t know that when he made the save, his kicking last night though made Frankie Fielding’s look good <laugh><laugh>

I wonder if the Bank Holiday that’s being mooted if we win the tournament will apply to the Welsh and Scots?

Best team won, England in the 2nd half of normal time were shocking. Never looked like scoring from the 2nd minute onwards.

The only substitution that Southgate got right was Grealish. Henderson and Saka were poor. Mount was poor all game, Sterling spent too much time on his arse.

But we got further than we have for 56 years, so that's a plus.

PS:- I feel sorry for the old Bill tonight, it's going to a very long night and I predict some riots.

Think England were shocking for sixty minutes. Mancinni was positive. Southgate was the ultra dull grey man again. Grealish might think Southgate hates him. The subs Thought Henderson was decent passed to team mates feet. Saka looked lost. Grealish decent. Southgate brought the kids with shell shocked Saka on for penalties.... **** man management that. Ah well, world Cup next year, same squad, full of hope.... again

I thought we looked good in the first half and actually made a comment about how comfortable we were on the ball.
Second half totally different; Grealish and Henderson should have come on around the 60 minute mark and freshen things up.
Bringing Rashford and Sancho on with a minute to go in a major final was a clusterf*ck in my opinion!
