Their free kick, I saw an England player drag one of theirs down. Might have been other infringements from both sides, but the one stood out for me was that. Just seen it the once like. The actual free kick is another story. Gary Neville complaining that Pickford didnt get himself into a position to see the ball from the free kick and was late to react. What actually happened was Denmark moved their own wall into a position so Pickford couldnt see the ball seconds before it was taken. Clever, but illegal.

The shenanigans has got me thinking of this goal........

Technically one of the best volleys ever scored. He could have tried it 100 times in training and not have hit it like that. Only 10 years old at the time. Wish I had the passion for football like I did back then. Then again, for the benefit of my mental state, I'm pleased I havnt.

Pleased we conceded first against Denmark in a way. Cos now if we concede first in the final we have more hope of equalising

Didn't pick this up last night, but surely VAR should have, disallowed the goal and awarded England a free kick

For what? They are allowed to move, as long as they don't encroach the 10 yards

I thought that they weren't allowed to encroach within 1 yard of a defensive wall of 3 or more players?

First time I’ve heard of that, makes you wonder how many other rules aren’t followed.

Clever from the Danes mind as they blocked Pickfords view in the seconds before he struck the ball.

Aye I’d forgotten that rule, was just introduced this year I think.

**** blaming the keeper it was just a great hit, it happens.

I thought it was a pen as well, he clipped him twice.

It doesn't matter what Pickford does, he'll be criticised. Thunder shot, dipping Kate, view blocked until late but still manages to get a finger tip to it- should have done better, he's at fault, not what a brilliant goal.

To be fair, though, I think which ever English goalkeeper is picked, they'd find fault. But they never find fault with overseas keepers.

Personally I think it's a penalty. A soft one, but a penalty. The second challenge is the one that puts him down. If that doesn't happen, the contact from the first isn't enough to justify him going down, if he does they'd say he made too much of it. Even as he's off balance, he probably gets the ball if he stays on his feet (probably not much he can do with it though), but the second one knocks him down as he's off balance. It's like a stupid little shirt pull in the box.

I wonder if Gary Neville will apologise to Pickford. He said his positioning was suspect, in a position where he couldnt see the ball. He should have saved it apparently. He still could have saved it but it was made alot lot more difficult by Denmarks wall movement. He couldnt see the ball as it was being struck. He wouldnt have known where the ball was until after it passed Kanes head.

Alternatively you could say that Sterling would absolutely have scored had Kjaer not got there first, Kane should have had a penalty in the 2nd half and had Schmeichel not tried to catch the ball instead of palming it away, Kane wouldn't have scored the rebound

They moved, but they were still more than a metre away from our wall :emoticon-0105-wink:

Not that it matters now :emoticon-0100-smile
