To my eye, it's great for offsides but otherwise it just backs the ref's decision, irrespective. The red card for Sweden, for instance, was still given when it clearly wasn't a red.
It's coming home It's coming home It's coming Football's coming home Two balls on the pitch Harry Kane still cheating Thirty years of hurt Never stopped me dreaming
I've increasingly fallen out of love with football in the last 20 years due to the cheating and corruption. Money and greed rule. Beautiful game? No, ugly game. Is this the only sport (and the major sport at that) where cheating is the norm and no one bats an eye? Sportsmanship? Don't make me laugh. Think of the great England players of the 90s that never made a final and they deserved to - Italia 90 and Euro 96. I don't remember much cheating then. If Maradonna did his "hand of god" now he'd actually be applauded! I still love the Swans, of course, and will always follow them but I've no time for much else.
Try listening to Radio 4 for the news , nah its coming home ,John Humphreys wouldn't have put up with all this fawning that's for sure
There's live video all over the net of it, plus the 2 balls the own goal and Stirling diving, Kane needing a rebound to score a pen they deserved fek all !
I've been feeling similar the last few years to be honest. The money is something that seems to be the way of it, but what I cannot tolerate any longer is the diving and cheating. It seems rather than fashion a goal through skill, the idea has become to get close enough to your opponent so that absolutely any contact means you fall down holding whatever part of your body in pain in order to con the ref into giving you the decision. This is then compounded by the referees giving the decisions. So many goals - quite probably the majority come from free kicks and penalties that were really just faked by the players. I swear, both Harry Kane and Sterling last night were like Bambi on ice. My 8 year old daughter would have stayed on her feet for both those tackles and she wouldn't have been holding her ankles in pain either. I know those 2 have been singled out, and rightly so, but the majority of players do it and it makes me sick to my stomach that most footballers are complete ****ers. I remember the disdain I felt for Chico Flores when he started with those antics for us. I wanted him out of the club immediately, but alas the rest of the squad do the same. The screams of pain from players who've barely been touched makes me squirm every time and my enjoyment of football has been eroded to the point where this season I'm giving Cooper and the Swans the first 3 games to captivate me or I'm gonna give the season a miss. I've no plan to watch any other matches on TV - PL,CL etc because I just don't want to. I will only watch the Wales World Cup Qualifiers because there's weeks between matches, and I feel that's as much as I can take. Nothing will change of course, because cheating is perpetually rewarded in the game. There is no integrity in it. Cheating has become 'simulation' or 'clever', 'bending the rules'. No - people have no self respect and are so lazy that they just accept it for what it is - and in my eyes it's a game that has lost its way.
Sorry it won’t happen this year unless it’s the age group tournaments....Italy to shove it up England on Sunday....please
